Ah, so it is from an anime. That makes sense, honestly, since the artist of this drawing Mirroredsea is Japanese (and therefore would have likely seen the show that you mentioned when it was first released).
Well it was released after the anime series it is from was, Haibane Renmei.
The anime is beautiful, emotional, and hits some very real philosophical and personal themes.
I’d definitely reccomend checking out both the series, and the album, the music for it is breathtaking.
