Artists who ask offsite for people not to repost their art here should be added to the DNP

When artists specifically say on Tumblr/DA/FA/Twitter/Pixiv/etc. not to repost their art here, they should get added to the DNP even if they don’t contact any admins here.

“Rule #1: Do not upload images from artists who are on our Do-Not-Post (DNP) List, or who have otherwise publicly made a clear and visible statement that they do not wish for their content to be on this website.”
 
If you are aware of such images, please report one of them and provide a link to the publicly viewable statement.

Advance-cataloging every single artist who doesn’t want reposts would bloat our DNP list massively. The DNP list is for when it’s not obvious at the source.

The DNP list is for preventing the uploads and notifying the user of DNP listing; and from the other side, it’s to have artist announce they do not want their art here, or want it conditionally. It’s not for “when it’s not obvious”.

DNP listing requires artist to verify account here and contact us directly. It’s also regularly checked and updated, so a “do not repost!” on an image from 4y ago may no longer apply (and there’ve been enough cases where it explicitly doesn’t). Furthermore, many of the generic DA and Tumblr “Do not repost” comments are often about reposting to the same site without credit, which is common there.
 
If someone is so upset about “racist bronies” and “gross bigots” on this site, they should A: Contact us to express their derision of our persons directly, and B: Get off Tumblr, because boy do I have a surprise about their userbase for them…

Also, I will explicitly not respond to any moderation requests made to my mail account. That account is for handling bans, advertisements, and legal issues (such as a formal copyright claim notice or Hasbro’s fun C&Ds).

You’re telling someone who’s been a moderator for half a decade and working on the site code most of that time what a site feature is for, I think you should reevaluate what you’re saying.  
The DNP list is for artists to officially list themselves for either not posting or special stuff, it is not for us to gather up a list of everyone’s wants from every DA and tumblr in existence.

This was a fun read.

I’ve had some trouble with artist:luckreza8 being on DNP list.  
There is no warning if you use a picture from Derpibooru.  
Further I don’t think, >>1966646 (deleted) violates the rules.

As this topic’s staff replies clearly state, we only care about what’s stated on this site. On this site the artist requested permission for edits, so regardless of anything said off-site, that’s what we go with.
