Can you cancel a dupe report if you accidentally typed the wrong number?

I reported an image earlier because it was the same image with the same exact resolution, but after typing in 2 numbers on the num pad I guess my finger slipped and hit the enter key, reporting a random image that had nothing to do with it.
 
I filed a second report right after with the correct number, but I was wondering if I could cancel the initial report.

They’re all checked thoroughly by staff, if a dupe report does not have images that should clearly be merged, the report will be declined.

It’s partially to save them time, and partially not to have any negative attention on my name(though I’m sure they understand an honest mistake and you’d have to be spamming bad reports before any kind of action was taken) Still doesn’t hurt to be careful.

What zippysqrl said is true - all the duplicates are resolved by hand, usually after quite a bit of scrutiny, so the odds of one getting done inappropriately, even if it was requested by accident, is small.
 
But if you would like to be proactive, you can report yourself or the image (using the “Report this user” link under your profile, or under the Reporting tab of the image), select a reason of “Other”, and let us know that the dup report had an error.
 
Being proactive is always good.
