Been a while since I replied in here, but I
might work on this over the coming weekend.
Heard a couple of good points I didn’t think of myself, for example
@JP’s point for being able to fave/upvote
static spoilered things. I’m not especially against this, especially since being able to fave from hover-spoilers is VERY MUCH in my own interests, and they’re not
that much different. Plus I doubt the mass-downvoters are going to upvote spoilered stuff all of a sudden now.
So here’s my plan:
-> Modes Static, Click, Hover and Off will be done. Text seemed to be creating confusion, and downvoting on that is NOT going to happen, so I think it’s better to just not make it an option at all.
-> Default mode will be click-to-unspoiler. Not sure how I’m gonna make the switcher yet, but I want it to be next to the filter menu.
-> Faving/upvoting
from thumbnail possible in any mode. Downvoting only for not-spoilered pics (thus all pics when in Off mode).
->
Nobody has made any comment so far about also removing the yellow background thing. See this very NSFW example (no actual thumbs shown) The left two are spoilered but have the same blue background as regular thumbnails, while the right one has a yellow background (as it is now)
@Adlaz
Yep. “Off” will be like you’re using the same filter, but without any spoilers. You’ll still be hiding whatever you have hidden.
@Background Pony
The script to test this before it goes live for the masses is called “apply for developer”. In all seriousness, I’d link
a my greasemonkey script here that would hack some buttons or something and lets you test drive the modes, but it’s been broken since the recent spoiler upgrade, and it’s more work to make that one work again than just make it happen on the server, really.
All of the javascript to do the different types of spoilering has actually been live for a while, it’s just hardcoded to use
Static mode for now.
