“Perform surgery on the cancer instead of setting the entire hospital on fire and declaring cancer Over Forever, is what I’m saying.”
You put it more eloquently than me and with less verbosity as usual.People around here like to throw their hands down and bury their hand in the sand when people point out problem, ignoring a problem that is growing and growing instead of doing something. Thing is :people are adamantly denying that there is a cancer to begin with.People try to make you think that this funny lump in your throat have always been here, that it’s an undisociable feature of the human body

Neither do I fellow random BP,though i have a confession to make,i’m not exactly pro-article 13 either,i dont believe Article 13 will be the harbringer of Destruction of Free Speech it’s portrayed as ,i’m just against the continuous naive and frankly adolescent if not childish idealization of the Internet that subsist nowaday, i believe the current Internet is in need of change and if that wasnt apprent in the article i quoted,i’m fully aware of the trickiness that involve implementing any reform at all.
Too much and we end up as Russia/China with social credit program out of Black Mirror and The Great Internet Firewall/North Korean Intranet, too little and it’s laissez-faire garbage where 4Chan,KiwiFarms,InfoWars and Andrew Auernheimer are free of radicalizing youth ,bullying minority into submissive silence using mafia-esque tactics, spreading harmfiul falsehoods that lead to measle breakout in otherwise developed countries like the USA and using the “muh freeze peach” card at each legitimate objection.I share The Smiling Pony opinion that realistically,Article 13 will do jack shit and will be a waste of time ,unworthy of the bellyaching displayed in this thread but you have to realize sooner or later, change will come
Current Web 2.0 is a sacred cow,it need to be challenged so it can evolve into something better

Because letting the masses deciding everything worked so well so far.“Popular wisdom” is a big fat lie and Internet is breathing on its populist fumes for far too long.

“Popular wisdom is well known. It was the popular wisdom who elected Hitler in 1933,it was the popular wisdom that fill the soccer stadium benches at Brussels,it was the popular wisdom that make the ratings of voyeuristic TV show grow”
