Derpiboo.ru no longer working?

As the title says, that alternate domain doesn’t work anymore. Which makes me sad, as I use multiple accounts for roleplaying purposes and the different domains would allow me to be logged in as multiple characters as once. Now I have to log out and back in, which is a bit of a hassle.

I don’t see any problem. Was a pain getting a .ru link and suddenly be unlogged and shifted straight to the light theme and vice versa for other users.
 
Also FYI trixiebooru.org still exists as an alt domain.

That still exists? I expected that domain to have disappeared way before .ru did. Thanks for the info.

Anyone accessing the site through the .ru URL is getting redirected to Derpibooru.org now. The .org site is identical to the .ru site, so you’re losing nothing.
 
I’m sure an admin will announce it officially shortly.

I have Firefox set to redirect derpibooru.org to derpiboo.ru, which caused a bit of confusion until I saw 301 Moved Permanently. I assume they (whoever ‘they’ is :^D) decided to stop using that domain.

We’re deprecating .ru for various reasons, chief among them is it’s a pain in the ass to deal with Russia’s internet police.

Oh, this is nice, especially since I’m pretty sure that most of the people who know about trixiebooru.org also knows about relative links so that won’t be an issue.

Well that’s annoying as fuck. 4 years of browser history I will no longer be able to use to find shit.

Er…you can still use your history, seeing as literally all you have to do is change “.ru” to “ru.org”

You might be able to edit your hosts file to point .ru to the correct place.

Are you guys going to find an alternate domain or just drop it to two?

I somehow completely failed to recognize the .ru association with Russia, which is weird because in any other context aside from Derpibooru, I’d recognize .ru as a Russian domain name.

Seriously tho I use a script that always redirected me to .org, so surely if someone has it they can make all links of .ru in their history and bookmarks redirect just fine, it ain’t a big deal. Literally a non-issue.
 
Also when linking to the site itself onsite remove the domain from the link and it will always send you to your current domain.

Good decision. It sure is better for you to have no deals with russia, trust me.
