How is it decided if non pony characters are or arent allowed

I’ve uploaded art of my changeling and hippogryph because undoubtedly its related to the show, but ive always been hesitant to upload my Dragon character because its styling is more “original” rather than stolen from the show, with ponies obviously i dont think this difference in style has never been an issue but i fear that if id upload pictures of my dragon character it would be taken down for not being mlp enough despite dragons being a legitemate thing that exists in mlp

In all honesty the way this usually happens is we just talk about it, and look to see what else has been uploaded related to the character and by the artist, and if there’s a tie-in to the show or any of its spinoffs then that’s good enough. Sometimes the tie-in is that they’re a reboot of a character from earlier in the show, sometimes they’re characters from an ongoing comic … it really all depends.
 
If you have a character that you’re not sure about and you wanted to make sure before posting it, post a link to your character and describe why you think it’s related to MLP or the fandom, and folks can look at it and talk about it.

I mean, there’s no other art of the character and I currently dont have any images with the character alongside a pony mainly just headshots. it’s just a dragon character which i created because of mlp.
 
And yeah 99% of my stuff is commisions, the most ive uploaded influenced by myself is pieces multiple people touched up including myself.

It sounds like the images you’re talking about are not really something related to MLP in any way - in which case it might be better to set up a gallery for them on a more general art site, like DA or Tumblr, where the art isn’t required to be related to one franchise.
