So are you able to make your username be entirely slurs?

So I happened across a user named NierFaot and I had filled a report under Rule #n for the name itself since from my understanding of the rules listed, it didn’t fall as well under certain rules as I’d feel comfortable putting it under, but the report was closed and nothing was done, so I’m wondering if anyone could make an account with a name like that?

Because “niggerfaggot” is the name they use as an artist, and has been for half a decade on this site, and longer elsewhere.
 
If that is what the artist is known as and what they want to call themselves, then that’s their call.

But their artist tag lists other aliases too, so why can’t they just use those names?

Just slurs strung together as a name is not necessarily a Rule #0 violation, as in this case. I think there could be problematic names in slightly different forms.

That’s their call. If they want to, they certainly may. But we’re not going to tell them what to call themselves.
 
Anyway, have you considered that they might be black and homosexual? If that were me, and I did that, it would be because I was reclaiming those words. Heavens know I fought the “Ok, we’re faggots then” fight long enough myself in the 90s.

I just want to clarify that in general, our rules don’t prohibit vulgar names, though we may decide to revise that in the future.

Reminder that outside of USA “nigger” doesn’t have the same implications and “faggot” means “small meatball” or “bundle of sticks” (or “cigarette butt”).

In the long ago I had a chance to talk with that artist on another site, and I really appreciate and agree with their choice of that name. When I first ran into it I thought it was a troll, but after talking with them I realized I was wrong.
 
You gotta remember that artist chose that name at least a decade or more ago, at a time when on some Brony sites being anything other than a white straight man was VERY MUCH not ok. In fact it was a trope that everyone on chans and brony sites were white, straight, and male. Some people saw that trope as a joke. Others saw that trope as a rule to enforce. There’s still people around who feel that anyone who is not a white straight male should not be allowed to, for example, post art here, or even be a user on this site. And any artist who presents any of the MLP characters as anything other than white and straight is “itching for a fight” or “pushing an agenda”. Even now, in 2019, periodically someone on this site will start ranting about how allowing ”homosexuals” or “blacks” to use the site is a form of “White Extinction” and is some sort of personal attack on them and “their race, except for the race traitors”.
 
So if an artist gets sick of all of that and says; “Ok, I’m a n*gger, and a f*ggot. Fuck you.” and calls themselves that, that is their call, and I’m going to stand on their side. I don’t care what color their skin is, or what their sexual orientation is - I’m going to stand on their side. Not least of which because I am also a faggot and I am also sick of the shit that I get sometimes for it.
 
That said, there are offensive or vulgar profile names that have been created that were clearly designed to insult or threaten others, and those are against our rules and we deal with them.
 
If you think that someone’s profile name breaks Rule #0, then please report that profile for Rule #0 and staff will look at it.
 
But NiggerFaggot and artist:niggerfaggot is how that artist describes themselves, and while that may change in the future, today that doesn’t break any of our rules.

I find this very interesting, because for what I’ve understood. A lot of bronies has claimed most of these characters as lesbians, and instead have trouble if the characters are portraid anything but homosexual. Hasn’t Lyra × Bonbon been a thing for a very long time?

Just because someone likes to see female on female doesn’t mean they understand or respect the existence of lesbian sexuality as equally real, definitive, exclusive, stable, etc. to heterosexuality. That isn’t impossible, of course, but quite often there’s an overall theme of utilizing the lesbian context as a vehicle to sexually objectify a character while shielding a fragile masculine ego:
