I’m not sure if there have been any issues with this thing before but given its origins and use I just want to put out there some issues it causes.
It’s the meme where images of scootaloo making a derpy grin are photoshopped into nearly anything.
The meme was originally started by a group from the /b/ board on 4chan for the purpose of trolling /b/ and other boards who are known to react poorly to pony spam, or any ponies. It was a continuation of a game of theirs where they’d hit two birds with one stone by trolling the victim board, and then watching as that board then tried to get “revenge” on 4chan’s /mlp/ board by either complaining or spamming back, sometimes even organizing petty little raids for that purpose. The people who started this were known for not liking /mlp/ and also for only really posting ponies because they liked the negative reaction it got in a lot of places.
The chickun meme was a forced thing by a small number of individuals for that purpose. Most of the images are barely pony related, only having that picture of scootaloo’s head photoshoped in to fit the theme. Many of those images are generic /b/ originating reaction images because that’s what the people making them have the most of. It’s a forced meme in every way.
I just see the images dumped here every now and then and I’m worried it’s mostly the same people trying to cause the same kind of trouble. I just want to know what the current standing on it is if anything. I’m likely wasting time as the best reaction would likely be to ignore them anyway.
