Good site to buy blind bag figures?

I’m running a table top gaming event at an upcoming convention and I thought those blind bag figures would make good miniature. Does anyone know of a site where I can just buy specific characters? I just want the regular Mane Six, no variants.

eBay. Or look at local thrift stores, comic shops, used book stores, etc. They often have a box of them you can pick through.

Also, strawberryreef.com has the bag codes so you can often find the ones you need new in any Target or Wal*Mart. You don’t even need to open them, just look for the faintly stamped letters in the bottom crimp of the bag.

Thanks. I recently found out the newer bags have a small window in the back so you can see which Pony is inside just by gently pushing the figure around a bit.

Here’s the website I use

Through the years the ways they’ve used to conceal the identity of what’s inside didn’t really change, for the most part you’ll have to rely on the code etched on the bottom of the bag, it starts with A and has another letter in it, up to Z. Only one release had an “official” window to see the blindbag, for the others you’ll have to rely on the packaging being thin enough and for a light source to shine the right way to reveal the contents, it’s much easier (and quicker) to check for the code.

Buying them individually is doable, but it can get expensive real fast due to how it’s easy to predict the high-value ones, those with new molds or unique paint schemes. In general the “unique” ones a series has is featured on the packaging, and the rest are for the most part recolors.

Places with a pink aisle like Walmart and Toys R Us are your best bet to find boxes, one that’s still full is most likely going to have the figurine you want, since an unopened box has all 26 blindbags in it…. but of course, overlap can happen if a second box is emptied into another. That’s what the codes are for!

There’s also the Funko Mini blindbags, but those have only one way of knowing what’s inside: to shake the box and figure out what’s inside by how it moves. If it doesn’t knock up and down, it’s a tall figurine, if it doesn’t do much sound, it’s a thin/hollow figurine. I was able to get 3 Chrysalis and 4 Cadance (Sooo… technically 7 Chrysalis? :D) like that, but of course, it’s anywhere near reliable.
