For some reason I get the feeling Lilymoon won’t be physically appearing in the PM comics…

IDW during season 7: We’re tying the comics closer to the show from now on.  
IDW upon learning about who’s going to be appearing in season 9: Well, shit.
 
I am, of course, talking about Sombra.

I wonder how IDW will handle that? Maybe they’ll have it that ‘Sombra actually never reformed, he just pretended to so he could get away and plan his revenge’?

They can’t tell IDW “sure, hey, do whatever with him, he’s safe” and then do another story with him. On the other hand it would be awesome if his reformation made it into the show and the new story took it into account, but there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of that happening.

I kind of half hope its “alternate timeline sombra escapes from being retcon erased into the prime timeline”.
 
I kind of liked sombra from the S5 finale.

The fun thing about fiction is that you can do pretty much anything. They can bring back Sombra in the show and not have it negate what the comic has done. It could be an alternate universes version or they could pull a Kingdom Hearts and have it be a reminant of Sombra’s Darkness that somehow survived and gained sentience. So literally Sombra’s Shadow. Or it could be a copy made by Grogar from a piece of Sombra’s Dark Crystal’s he could summon, the same way Chrysalis made the Mean Six. So yea, plenty of ways to have Sombra or A Sombra in the cartoon again without it negating any of the comics major arcs.

Siege of Crystal Empire Arc is pretty much confirmed not canon considering that Sombra suppose to return as evil guy.

Stormy Road to Canterlot? The 2nd half of that book seems to have been written before the movie underwent some plot changes, so I’m probably going to assume the comic is more official in this case.

The part about Tempest ditching her armor, then her realizing that Grubber’s friendship was basically what she was craving for since forever and both of them leaving together to start a new life elsewhere.  
It was a pretty good and closed ending for both characters, so I’m considerably upset to see how the comic ignored it instead of just using that epilogue as a sound starting point for a new story.
 
Hell, I didn’t liked the movie but even then I would have liked to read a comic where Tempest and Grubber try to adjust to their new lives without going back to their old bad habits.
