Naming Fluttershy's Parents, Trixie's Mom, and the Sphinx

Oh yeah, that reminds me, should we also come up with names for Petunia Paleo’s parents too?

Now back to topic… Trixie’s mom, Dandy Lion or Showcase Spectacle, like most of everyone here. Posey Shy too for Mrs. Shy. I like Stratus Swirl for Mr. Shy. Also I think the sphinx should stay anonymous.

count me in as a hard vote for just “sphinx” or “the sphinx” for the sphinx.
 
for the rest, i’m largely flexible but i’d have to go with dandy lion for trixie’s mom if only because that was originally the choice for her name, and nimbus breeze and posey shy for flutterturd’s parents admittedly do sound quite nice.

trixie’s mom always struck me as a “marigold” kind of person… pony. i know she’s got a sunflower, but still.
 
i like posey and the sphinx for both mrs shy and, well, the sphinx. i don’t know why the sphinx needs a name. when i look at mr shy, i think “cloud swirls” or “sailing clouds”

Even the IRL great sphinx has names. The best IMO:
 
Abū al Hūl (“The Terrifying one”)

For the sphinx I think her name should be giza because that’s where the sphinx is in real life.

either way, people want “sphinx” as an option so an option it shall be.

Posey’s fine, I guess. But since they’re called Mr. and Mrs. Shy in the show, I’ve never felt the need to call them anything else.

Right, that was always an assumed option even from the OP.

I would like to suggest ‘Jinxy’ for the Sphinx. It’s cute and works well as a feline name.
