I’m sorry if my standards for reformation are screwed up but I’m going with how all my first impressions were for each character and that’s that. I think Sunset, Starlight and Trixie becoming good are way more fitting than Discord.

Despite what Mr. Miller said in his farewell letter, I’m still having concerns about the series finale. And now I’ll explain why:
 
Pretty much, I’m… still worried that the Mane 6 are gonna be sidelined in the finale, and if that happened it would be the bullshit of the bullshit. Twilight is supposed to ascend to the throne right? Celestia said that she will ascend when she will be ready right? Then leading the charge against Grogar, the final boss of the series, by aiding help from all her possible allies (Pillars, Dragons, Yaks, Changelings, Griffons, Hippogriffs and Discord) will be the perfect test for her to prove she’s ready. My fear is: what if they make her NOT leading the charge? What if somepony else leads instead? And what if Twilight is still crowned at the end only because “all of her allies wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for her” but in the end she didn’t actually do anything for the final battle? That would be EXTREMELY counterproducing, because she’s supposed to be DEVELOPED by this, and if she doesn’t do anything, she isn’t actually DEVELOPED. That’s why I’m so worried.
 
And again, I know Jim Miller said that the Mane 6 and Spike will have a satisfying ending, but honestly… that’s not enough to fade my concerns… I guess I’ll just have to wait the synopsis of the finale instead…

Are you claiming that my concerns about the series finale are unfounded thought? You can’t deny that, as much I’m being a bit repetitive about this, I’m making a good point. If you watched the show from the beginning to the end you wouldn’t certainly do it to see the Mane 6 being failures in the final confrontation. Or am I wrong?

As somebody who has watched the series from the beginning, as well, them almost constantly saving the day, or constantly solving problems, and helping others doesn’t really foreshadow them as “failures” to me.
 
Not to mention, just because on a rare occasion that some other group of friends like Starlight and her posse save the Mane 6 from the changelings, (even that group almost failed at, so that doesn’t make them “superior” or anything) or the Student Six help save the day, doesn’t mean the Mane 6 are “constantly failures,” nor does it mean they’re being replaced, or anything.
 
If you truely payed attention to the entire show, and get over your huge “Twilight and the Mane 6 are god, and should always save the day, and nobody else should” bias then you’d see that.  
Being the main characters, there’s no doubt in everybody else’s minds that they’ll be the main characters of the finale, but no matter what anyone says, you won’t listen, (others have points too) and you’d rather panic yourself, and keep fear-mongering in this thread, so everybody else has basically given up on even talking with you.

For many, it’s too late for friendship lessons.

Well, while possibilities of that happening are very low, they still exist. In the Kim Possible series finale the protagonist didn’t do ANYTHING for the entire episode (were Ron, Sheego and Draken who save the world instead); in Regular Show, Mordecai and Rigby didn’t defeat the final boss, Pops did (althought the final boss was Pops’ brother so it’s fitting); so until the synopsis officially comes up, who can guarantee me that the writers of FiM wouldn’t be so foolish to do the same?

You can tell me that I’m panicking over nothing, but I’m not gonna chill until I get a concrete piece of evidence that my fear is ACTUALLY unfounded.

Jim Miller’s letter, along with many, many other reasons and points others have stated, yet you refuse to listen to. You’re literally doing this:

Literally everyone else: “Okay.” provides evidence

And honestly we’re sick and tired of it. In fact, you’ve done this so much that the mods are asking ya to stop, and in all honesty, ya probably should.

I think this BP is the same guy who goes to /mlp/ to mass spam the place with the same questions over and over again.

Here’s something I wanted to vent about. I know some of you are happy that Starlight hasn’t appeared much at all this season, but I really don’t want her to be sidelined for nearly the whole series finale while everyone else, mane 6, Spike, young 6, princesses, CMCs, and Discord all get to play a role in saving the day. That was one of the main reasons I was dissatisfied with the season 8 finale. Seriously, what if the writers decided to make Starlight a princess at the end? I know, I doubt this will happen, but still. If you’re gonna make her a princess, make her earn it by playing a role in the finale, don’t just give it to her if she doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t have to be a bigger role than the mane 6 or even the young 6, but have her play some role instead of turning her into a useless damsel and having to rely on a stupid deus ex machina to save her at the end.

If they make her a Princess, or give her too much spotlight in the finale, (heck some fans are afraid of that happening apparently) then half of the fandom will go nuts, because half the fandom still hates her, so that’s not a good idea.  
I’m so sick of hearing complaints about how this is the “Starlight Glimmer Show,” despite the fact she’s been less prominent in the show lately, and doing that will just enforce that drama, and hatred of her unfortunately.  
So sadly, it might be best for her, and the show, if she’s not very prominent in the finale.
 
Also honestly, Starlight’s character arc has already been pretty much worked out for her, and finished, so making her a princess won’t add anything, nor was it ever something she strived for, even in her “evil” days. So it’s kinda pointless really, no offense.

The real answer is they probably can’t afford another voice actress, so we see the same person voicing two different characters.

With everyone taking about this or that pony becoming an alicorn in the finale – what if ALL the ponies become alicorns?

I’m still of the belief that in order to be a princess, you need to be skilled at something and have a great attribute to have that as a title, and of course be worthy of it. Celestia controls the sun and acts as a motherly figure to her citizens, Luna controls the moon and patrols the dream realm in helping ponies with their nightmares, Cadence knows a lot about love and rules the Crystal Empire and Flurry Heart is just… there I guess. Which brings us to Twilight who was not only skilled with magic, but had to learn and understand the true value of friendship for three seasons which granted her the title of Princess Of Friendship and those wings.
 
For Starlight, I don’t think she’s done enough to earn princesshood and even if she was worthy, what would she be the Princess of? Empathy? So I highly doubt that she’s going to be treated like royalty by the series end and will still be considered a mere mortal.

If there was a spinoff about her called “The Starlight Glimmer Show”, I’d watch the hell out of that. Or better yet as someone else pointed out in another thread, have her be with Twilight on their own show ala, Laverne & Shirley.
