Pony Venting Thread

Being hated since existence I can relate to Flurry Heart.

Last page, and what someone in the “Ask the mods” page gets to be so negative about post-S3 makes me think that I wish people would have accepted change 6-7 seasons ago.
 
And I always think that way.

Do I have a more justifiable reason to be upset over FiM not getting more seasons over BP# 9BD6 being worried about the Mane Six getting shafted in the finale?

To me, I am upset they won’t end at Season 10 and have no reason for a 10 years anniversary celebration other than retrospectives and look-backs by either the fandom or the cast/crew. Not to mention, BronyCon is coming to an end this year and it won’t last forever.
 
Which speaking of cons, I doubt MLP has a place at other conventions after BronyCon’s dissolve and the show ends.

There’s still a few other brony conventions, but fandom-specific conventions seem to be dying off as a whole.

Sadly, you might be right, especially considering all the stigmas many other fanbases have for bronies. Alot of anime/comic/gamer fans hate bronies passionately due to hearing nasty rumors/stories online, or due to their own personal bad experience with cringy fans. (And forgetting their own fanbases have their fair share of “cringy” fans, and that many bronies like the same animes, games, and geeky stuff they do too. Heck, remember when the internetz used to bash people for liking anime, or Star Wars?)
 
Fans might fund their own brony convention though, so it might not be the end of them, they probably just won’t be as major.

Pretty much, the only cons alive are San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, WonderCon, D23 Expo, Anime Expo, E3. And by what you said, I fear MLP will never be acknowledged at conventions after G4 ends. But I could be wrong.

There’s also lots of smaller cons, but like most of those mentioned, they’re all pretty much general cons, not tied to any specific fandom.
 
In some ways, I think it has to do with the internet and especially with social media. No longer do you have to rely on fan magazines/websites and cons to interact with other members of the fandom’s you’re in, now you just follow them on Twitter/Tumblr or find a Facebook Group/Discord server for the fandom you’re in.
 
There’s also not a lot of fandom-specific websites either, especially since GeoCities closed its US service around the time Facebook and other social media websites were getting really popular. Fanfics are generally hosted on any of the big fanfic websites (like FanFiction.net, Wattpad, or A03 and sometimes DeviantArt), most fan art is easily found on DeviantArt, Tumblr, and Twitter, and any fandom-related news is usually done by a few Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, and/or Tumblr accounts.And since it’s now easy to interact with other fans over social media, and fan-merch can be easily sold using Facebook, DeviantArt, and/or Etsy, there’s also less of a need for fandom-specific conventions. In some ways, the MLP: FiM fandom is one of the last of the old-style fandoms, with fandom-specific news/community, fanfiction, and fanart websites.

Nope alive and well. Those were quoted at me when I told a friend I was a brony. This was in May of 2019.

While i’m away battling and surviving a life-threatening disease, pretty sure I’ve missed a shitton of great stuff around here.

I don’t know why people would keep this up after so long, it’s like the world is out to get them or something.

Honestly I’m more concerned they’ve lost some older assets somehow…

I’m still terrorized for the series finale. I just couldn’t bear it if writers sidelined the Mane 6 in what would supposed to be the end of their journey… and people on the opposite seems to wish for that happening instead…

I’m not wishing for that to happen. I’d like if the Mane 6 start out sidelined and get rescued by the students, but after that it’s all Mane 6 and villain 4 until after the climax.

The student 6 already had their time to shine in the Season 8 finale though, so it’d be a li’l too similar if that happened.
