I’ll have to miss Fault in Our Cutie Marks, because I’ll be on vacation that week.

There’s always time for Celestia.
 
But heck, I’ve been curious about Applejack’s parents since season 1. I’m looking forward to an episode that might finally answer all those questions.

I doubt I’ll miss much. It’s being written by the guy who wrote Cart Before the Ponies, Flight to the Finish, and Three’s a Crowd.

I’ve got to wonder how they could make a Celestia episode without getting fans unset if Celestia mades a mistake and learns a lesson from that mistake. I think fans has gotten much more sensitive to the characters in the show, and seem to get angry whenever their favorite character isn’t shown in the most positive of lights.
 
I’ve always wanted to see a Celestia episode, maybe having Twilight teaching her a friendship lesson. But thinking how the fandom could respond to it makes me almost wish we shouldn’t have one.

She’s so low in my eyes her genuinely learning something that isn’t stupid would be gratifying.

The her being over a thousand years old should mean something, at least when considering her behaviour and in making mistakes.
 
As in, Princess Celestia has already had over a thousand years to experience life and all it can throw at her. Over a thousand years to grow and make mistakes, many lifetimes and generations for other ponies.

A theoretical Celestia episode could take place earlier in her life. Perhaps Celestia telling Twilight about the years shortly after Nightmare Moon’s banishment. Or about a difficult time in Equestria’s history.
 
Or it could e an episode without a lesson and just be the viewpoint of someone who’s lived for a millennia~ Like what the comics did with that one issue, showing her living as the ponies around her grow from fillies to old age~

I knew that “Where the Apple Lies”would be a Applebloom/Applejack episode.After that we only got three episodes left “Top Bolt” and “Where and Back Again” am curious about that episode.

what would make for a cool celestia episode is a flashback showing her trying and failing at some method to save princess luna.
 
one big question is why did celestia leave her sister there for that long? all jokes about her being a hilariously malicious tyrant aside, there has to be some reason she had to leave her up there that long. i think that would make for good storytelling.
 
that, and sad bittersweet endings are good for kids sometimes. it makes them think and helps to mold their emotional development. besides, as sad as it got, we all know it ultimately ends like this so it would pass on the whole don bluth principal.

Another CMC episode, a finale, a hiatus and a bunch of fan complaining. I’m looking forward to it :D  
(I guess there are a few other episodes left this season, hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a few)

Actually I felt in the original Season 1 two-parter it gave the implication that Princess Celestia really didn’t have any choice in how long her sister had been banished in, not on, the moon after she had become Nightmare Moon. More, if memory serves, it originally said that she would be banished forever not just a thousand years.
 
That and the way I interpreted the Elements of Harmony is that you could really only point them in the direction of whatever villain one is fighting and it is up to the Elements themselves to decide how each villain would be defeated. That they kind of had a mind of their own in a way when it comes to how they work.

same here, but i refuse to believe she sat on her butt for 1000 years just twiddling her hooves waiting for the problem to solve itself. even if that’s what she’s done when every major villain and a bugbear have appeared.
 
her going on a quest to get some spell/artifact/plot device to save her sister and having it not exist, not work, or harshest of all, she gives it up to save someone else would make for some epic samurai jack level stuff.
 
better yet, imagine if it would work, but at some horrific kind of cost, and she refused to use it but not before actually considering it in a moment of weakness and desperation. that could make for some amazing depth.

Princess Celestia sitting on her royal bottom for 1000 years or even worse, completely forgetting about her sister would be really messed up. They really could have a few stories about Celestia trying to do something about it.

The opening story that Twilight read said that Nightmare Moon was banished “forever”. And then some subsequent material she looked up said that Nightmare Moon would return on “the thousandth year” after the stars aid in her escape.
 
I believe the “forever” part is possibly part of the “general” or “simple” history. The story that’s passed down to children, but isn’t fully accurate. Like how history classes in elementary schools can teach simplified and inaccurate versions of History. They get the major points across, but lots of important details are missed. [Just my theory]
 
The thing with the stars and the 1,000 years. Implies that there was a set time on when she would be able to escape. Using the positions of the stars as a form of Timer. Since constellations and the like would have shifted in the 1,000 years. [And add some Fantasy world, Magic nonsense to exaggerate their movement.]
 
So it seems likely that Celestia, when researching ways to help her Sister, found that there was a set time where she would be freed.
 
It’s possible Celestia tried other methods to free her sister, perhaps while having set up stronger defenses around herself so she could be captured without having to be locked into the moon again or what-have-ye. But found she was unable to overpower the magic of the Elements. Since they’re shown to be pretty much the top of the power chain so far. But we’ll never know unless Hasbro chucks some more Lore at us~
 
Though given Celestia’s canon characterization. It seems reasonable to believe that she attempted/researched the issue and found she would be unable to do anything till the 1,000 year mark.

I meant the elements, but ponies are so far from questioning the sisters, I couldn’t imagine it happening.

There you just turned a Celestia Episode into a Royal Sisters Episode at best. At worst it’s gonna be a hijacked Luna Episode.
 
Celestia Episode means an episode focused around Celestia. Not Luna in any form.  
Bronies don’t seem to understand that.

If Luna is stuck/imprisoned on the moon, and Celestia is searching for a way to free her, I don’t see how that exactly makes it an episode hijacked by Luna.
 
If Twilight’s parents got kidnapped by a villain and held hostage, and Twi had to go and rescue them, would you say “Oh its a Twilight’s parents episode ****ing dropped.”
 

 
Sorry about that. What I meant to say is, while it would be an episode about Celestia trying to free her sister from imprisonment, it doesn’t mean that Luna necessarily has to be in it.
 
I wouldn’t mind if she was though. I can like both of them.

i see no reason her “researching it” and her “having an adventure to fix it” couldn’t mesh. i mean, somebody had to find out and then record in those books that she’d escape in 1000 years.
 
unless they just guessed and somehow gor really lucky.

not really. giving any focus to this:  
 
would be a little like that episode of rocko’s modern life that had wacky deli and one episode was just 22 minutes of a jar of mayo on a counter.
 
besides, they’ve done the impossible and churned out several spike episodes that are actually good shows the base ability is there. i have faith in them.

I completely lost any trust in these biased writers. In this kind of story they would put a ton of flashbacks into it where everything is about Luna. Luna, Luna, Luna.  
I just know they would do something like that.
