So Fluttershy was the best for at least 17 months. That with all passed christmas days indicate that mane6 are not only adult but also might be reaching their late twenties

Why can’t the show keep the writers it already has, instead of getting new writers every season?

Or at the very least, hire writers with more experience?

I’ve got to disagree with that. I think Fluttershy as a character has changed the most of the Mane Six.
 
We’ve gone from Fluttershy being shy or afraid of almost everything in season 1

While Fluttershy still shows fear/shyness in the later seasons, it’s much less than she did in the first few seasons.

Yeah, agreed. She even sounds very different, Fluttershy tended to mumble and stumble over her words in season 1, where as now she’s rather sassy. And most of her recent episodes have explored her character flaws of being short tempered, stubborn and a little too willing to argue her point of view.

Maybe Tim McKeon, who worked on Gravity Falls and Adventure Time.

He’s won three emmies, three other awards, lives in Canada, and is currently a full time writer for Odd Squad.
 
So neither unattached or cheap. He’d actually be the most experienced, most accomplished writer on the show, which is like hiring Elon Musk to do your tax returns.

How much money would hiring Tim McKeon make them? How many more toys would they sell? Is it worth possibly upsetting the applecart by bringing in a writer more experienced and accomplished than those in head office? Is the money best spent hiring one, top end writer, or hiring six young writers who may one day be top writers themselves and owe you a favor? Does Tim even want to write for them? What position are you going to give him, because if you want him in the writers room that’s in Los Angeles.

I very much doubt it. A guest writer position is below his talents, and a staff writer would involve him relocating to a whole different country. He’s currently a staff writer for a show that he actually co-created so I really doubt he wants to just abandon it, and he’s never worked for Hasbro before. They can’t pay him more than Disney, and they can’t give him more editorial freedom than his own independent production.
 
He hasn’t worked as a ‘writer for hire’ since 2014.

2019 really is the year of “no soup reveal for you”, isn’t it?

I still can’t stomach Father Knows Beast. It’s the most mean-spirited pile of trash in the entire series.
 
I was never a fan of Spike but it changed to hatred when she broke Twilight’s hear the way he did. You can scream “Rebellious teenager” all you want but that was fucking garbage.

I always saw that episode as Spike just wanting to impress his dad. It’s a thing that happens in real life too, where kids give up on their adopted parents just to go with their real parents, even though they know nothing about them.
 
Thankfully, most (close to all really) do go back to their foster parents. Spike behavior, while unwarranted, made sense.

I find it weird how most of the MLP/EQG shorts on Hasbro’s Youtube channel stays around the 100k-200k views mark, yet “Ail-icorn” seemingly blew up with 2.5 million views.

What, is the show only allowed to be jolly and feel-good? I mean, characters do bad things, even when they’re the designated good guy. To expect them to never do wrong is unrealistic. The scene had a purpose, and it fulfilled it. Was it an agreeable purpose? Who cares?
