I read this shit?
These fucking “boo hoo hoo they didn’t get redeemed” people are annoying
Chrysalis is more of a victim than anything else. From the start, she only had the best interests of her hive at heart.
She was a perfectly normal child until she was CORRUPTED by the supposed “heroes” of the show. Just pure love and innocence. But the “friendship school” mislead her,
DISCORD radicalized her and conned her into becoming evil.
I feel like the actual ethical implications of the finale have been swept under the rug. When you think about it, they are repulsive and downright terrifying. The three villains were subject to a public execution, which is already terrible enough. But think about it, who exactly has the writing staff deemed irredeemable here?Tirek is the only one that is justifiable, but only flimsily. He was never even once offered a chance at redemption, and was prominently shown to have redemption qualities on several occasions.Chrysalis is more of a victim than anything else. From the start, she only had the best interests of her hive at heart. Clearly, over time she was driven insane from the ridiculous luck of the ponies, but was still completely harmless until DISCORD changed that. She needed help, but the “heroes” have adopted a kill-first mentality. Her story is a tragic example of how morals are only defined by the powerful. And of course, there’s Cozy Glow. She was a perfectly normal child until she was CORRUPTED by the supposed “heroes” of the show. Just pure love and innocence. But the “friendship school” mislead her, and after getting an absurdly harsh punishment, DISCORD radicalized her and conned her into becoming evil. After being de-powered, she was completely harmless and posed no threat whatsoever to anyone. And somehow, the writers decided to PUBLICLY EXECUTE A HELPLESS CHILD??? A CHILD!But these three being murdered by DISCORD (who caused the whole fucking thing and should have been the only one punished) was the most insulting, disgusting, morally fucked up thing in the history of the show. Throughout the season they were portrayed positively, as friends changing for the better. And it’s all for naught. If a fanfic was written with this kind of pointless bloodlust, we would call its author a mentally ill psychopath, but if these writers do it they’re just fine. Great logic!
