Absolute Royalty might not be subject to most laws, but they do suffer from the ‘we don’t like you, let’s cut your head off’ law. Considering she was pretty much proven to have intentionally kept the hive starving in order to ensure her rule (and was likely feeding on the love of her subjects, while making sure they shared no love among themselves), I’m pretty sure she’s totally lost everyone’s loyalty now. Even Pharynx doesn’t really seem to like her.
 
Plus there’s the whole thing with her being a sadist and a jerk, who… kinda sucks at her job, considering her hoard keeps getting their asses kicked.

Go rewatch To There And Back Again, where she’s made to be an absolute tyrant that case little for her subjects/children.

The whole “She was just trying to feed her hive” is actually one of the flimsiest excuses to Chrysalis ever.
 
Of course she was trying to feed them. They’re an invading army. You try having a successful army when they’re all starving. See how far that gets you.

When you make a joke but no one laughs she’s the only villain we have left until she undoubtedly gets reformed.
 
There’s no real threat in this series now with so many OP good guys. It was amazing Tempest was able to capture Canterlot and the Storm Guards to keep it captured for 3 days.

I wouldn’t say it was BS the || Storm Guards shields could repel alicorn magic it can be assumed that Temoest’s armor can do the same and if the 2 prayers teach us anything if you’re not a unicorn you’re useless.||

The problem is there is no in-story reaction. No “hey where did she get those orbs” or not even a “what the hay was that” or anything to sell it. A single line from Twilight recognizing the orbs and berating Tempest for using a forbidden object or something against her own species would’ve been the conflict more personal.
 
The prequel comics tried to give it some backstory but honestly it was just weak to me. What matters most is what’s presented in the movie. I know the comics exist solely just to satisfy those lore people like me but even so, it’s not what the mainstream people see.
 
It’s a significant flaw that nearly the entire franchise has for me. I’m almost lucky they got taken out on-screen at least. A little more and I’m sure the alicorns would’ve been beaten off-screen with only a shocked Twilight to show for it.

Pretty much proven. The comics make that clear, and TWABA backed it up.
 
She wasn’t exactly nice in Cutie Remark either, and I hesitate to give her credit for a possible spark of affection for her swarm when her plan for every other race starts with ‘geno’ and ends with ‘cide’.

I’m not putting bets on it personally. Even if she does get redeemed I’m pretty sure it will be ‘Discord’ redemption, ie “I’m totally a good guy, because it’s currently convenient for me. I’m still going to be a total ass and betray you the second I get an opportunity.”

I don’t think that’s how Discord’s reformation works. He’s mostly a dick that doesn’t torture others anymore (unless they get on his or Flutter’s bad side).

Discord’s reformation is more like… he’s a law-abiding citizen of Equestria now rather than that street punk who constantly caused destruction in the neighborhood. He still has his tendencies, but he’s not doing anything criminal anymore.

I’m like, the only one who doesn’t want Chrysalis dead. Thorax should explode in a heroic sacrifice.

Reformation is actually her best option considering the other two that are on the table. I just don’t want the change to be so drastic. Smooth out her legs and horn, and give her sparkly wings. She doesn’t need to have a horrible mix of colors.
