Unpopular opinion (again): I don’t like the season 8 finale

Well I could say I consider the season 6 finale so bad I say that I don’t even count it, but the real reason is that Top Bolt aired after the season 6 finale and I like reminding people of that little trivia

I have a lot of problems with it. The lack of originality wouldn’t bother me so much if it weren’t so clumsily written and unfocused.
 
How I feel about this finale is who Doug Walker feel about Disney’s Hercules: It’s clumsy, it’s flawed, it characters are so recycled, and it’s story is so recycled. Not just from this show but just things I’ve seen a lot before in other shows/movies

Its half way, barely above average. There are parts I like but there are parts I don’t. The A plot for instance is so thin they needed 3 C plots. That being said it showcases the Mane 6 well and the set up is good. The others below it had similar and or worse problems IMO, usually in thier focus. Honestly it would have issue breaking top 50% of all episodes (then again all the finales sans 1-3 would have that issue)
 
And of the official finales, yes Best Night Ever is best finale

I thought the actual story of School Raze was pretty good, but the execution of it was a bit botched.
 
And Hercules is a good movie. >:V

I didn’t say I didn’t like Hercules, however it is kind of all over the place and I can see why people don’t like it

That’s part of the problem. I don’t mind her needing help or being captured. However it makes no sense as to why they decided to do that. There is like two other ways to get her out of the picture without resorting to turning her into a useless tool like that. But that’s part of another problem I have with the episode. The episode acts like it’s a “everyone plays a part in saving the day” but the CMC don’t do much and Starlight gets cast aside like an old shoe because people complained that everyone has to be useless in order for her to save the day so they did the opposite. Cozy Glow is an uninspired and boring villain, it doesn’t know who it focus on, (except for the student) everyone looks like an idiot for trusting and being so loyal to a kid, honestly I could go on and on about that finale that honestly feels like an apology for the season 6 finale. But I don’t wanna rant again.
 
It’s not well written and I don’t like it. End of story

No complaints here about Starlight’s capture, in part because the capture of the Mane 6 in TWABA wasn’t worth apologizing for. It was a smart move by the changelings, although having more changelings infiltrate throughout the season would’ve been a nice touch.

Real unpopular “opinion”: the method by which Thorax & the changelings transformed wasn’t a DEM.

lol sometimes I keep forgetting Top Bolt aired after TWABA. But yeah, I sorta consider it an unofficial finale(mainly because it actually keeps me entertained)
 
I’d love another finale like TBNE, mainly because it’s nice to have not to throw Equestria into the Apocalypse to be a good finale, just have a fun event. Unfortunately I’m not expecting another finale like it any time soon at this point

Again, I’m surprised you rank Twilight’s Kingdom that high. In terms of finales in which the mane five fall to the wayside of Twilight, it’s easily the worst one.

Starlight suffered the same destiny like the mane6 in the season6. But at least Twilight and Starlight were keys to defeat the villains in the season. Unlike the remane5, even new creatures had a better role in a seasonal arc than them.

I like Discord and I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for DBZ.  
But I would like to point out this is only in terms of finales. In an all episodes ranking it be near the 50% mark, give or take, at best

Twilight’s Kingdom honestly isn’t that great
