Let’s be honest, this skit is going to have no outstanding consequences, no major changes occurring, it’s a standalone piece and that’s about it. Rarity acts over the top for a joke and that’s it. It’s an underwhelming short and that’s all they wrote

Yeah, I don’t protest that, but I also don’t think there’s nothing to notice from it after watching the 1st time, regardless of whether it affects EQG later in the series. Those aren’t contradictory.

While they’re not awful shorts, I’m not too hot for the “Youtube video” format for the current shorts release, they just seem really trendy, “the cool thing to do” kind of shit, I see things like Spike unboxing and Shy/Shimmer Let’s Play and I think most of these are gonna be soooo dated. I think the only one I see myself going back to is Sic Skateboard(even when disregarding obvious bias) mainly because it’s the one that actually feels like something a kid/teenager would actually make

Fair enough, I just don’t put too much empathize on it since it is a short. I mean I could say how out of character is was for the Remane 5 to just leave baby Twilight with Spike at the end of it, but because it fit the overall tone of the story they were trying to tell, I didn’t really give to much over to it but that’s just me

Like my thing with the whole EQG thing is that I feel sometime some people don’t reconize the difference in formats between the two series. From 2013 to now, basically EQG’s full run, they’ve had the equivalent air time of around 25-30 episodes total, the rough amount of 1 season with a massively irregular schedule up until November of 2017, where as outside the season 4 to 5 hiatus, MLP has had a regular showing of 130 episodes in that same time frame. MLP has a lot more going into it time wise. That means the good can come out a lot more often and more chances to forget the bad, or dilute it more. Sure sometimes they play up a theme too much in the EQG shorts but it’s at best of 7 episodes or so and it’s just a general theme. Like oh no the 1 to 2 speicals has to involve magic, cause yeah when else will the get the chance? They don’t have another 22 episodes to fall back on for other stuff, just 2 minute shorts. I’m not saying people have to like it, just that people be aware of the difference.

Honestly don’t mind Gen 4 being on its last legs. The show is almost ten years old. I want to see what they do with a new generation. The people who have made the show their life…well I feel bad for them. Unhealthy.

Personally, I think the show should end after season 9, continue through shorts and specials, and devote more resources to EqG.
Even though season 8 tried to mix things up, I think the main series has just gotten a little stale, with the shorts generally feeling more fresh. Meanwhile, EqG has all this untapped potential that isn’t getting realized.

There is so incredibly much potential that 10 seasons might not be enough.For example there are countless characters that deserve to be revisited (Babs Seed, Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoon, Lightning Dust, Rolling Thunder, Short Fuse, Suri Polomare, the Pillars, Gilda/Gabby/Greta, Coco Pommel, Autumn Blaze, Iron Will, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail, Cheese Sandwich, Daring Do, Ahuizotl, Pharynx, Wind Rider, Gladmane and many others)They can also show Scorpan, Grogar, Katrina, Zebras, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Abessinia and a whole heap of other things one day.We still have to see the CMC Manehattan, meet other Zebras, hear more stories about AJs parents and learn more about Trixies past and her father.Autumn Blaze must meet Pinkie and Maud.Limestone, Marble and Cheerilee need their special someponies.Discord could have an adventure with the CMC.Spike has yet to meet his real parents.AND I want Rainbow to reconcile with Lightning and start a friendly rivalry with her.
