Unpopular opinion time

Same, which still sucks that he had to be killed in the premiere. I would’ve friggin loved to see him still in the legion and I wonder what his role would’ve been in Frenemies if he was still alive.

I think I could accept having the Legion of Doom reform, as long as Grogar doesn’t.
 
Speaking of him, I think it’s noteworthy that with Grogar, barring the possible exception of him teleporting Sombra away out of annoyance, he hasn’t been played for laughs at all. He does seem rather humorless.

Calling it now. GROGAR is the one who long-since has had a change of heart and his goal is secretly to either reform or destroy all the other villains as a penance for his own crimes. It explains why he’s been completely absent until now, it explains why he was entirely willing to let Sombra be destroyed (he knew he was irredeemable), it explains why he’s teaching them to work together (he wants them to become friends, and becoming friends is tantamount to reformimg), it explains why he gives them so much lenience, it explains why he apparently has no end-game other than “get the bell”, and it explains how some nobody pony was able to defeat him (Gusty didn’t beat him, she reformed him). Insane fan theory, but if it’s true you heard it here first guys :P

That would be a decent twist, maybe, but if it isn’t true (guessing it isn’t), I suspect that hiding the bell isn’t going to go exactly as planned for those three, because Grogar outright told Tirek he “doesn’t trust anything any of them say,” (smells like foreshadowing to me) plus, I’m guessing that part of Grogar’s plans with the “Bewitching Bell” might involve Discord, or at least a lot of his monsters he created.
 
Another running theory, possibly related to the above is that Grogar created Discord, or is otherwise connected to him, and the foreshadowing for that would possibly be how they’re two of the only beings that have yellow-tinted scleras (Grogar’s glow yellow when he’s showing his power, and seem to be yellowish by default when compared to say, Cozy Glow’s scleras), and red irises.
 
The second “paragraph” (only one long sentence) is of course, speculation with no hard evidence, arguably not even soft.

There are few things scarier in any story than a Genre Savvy Villain; Crazy Glue has clearly figured out some of the key mechanics of the universe she lives in and how to work them to her advantage, and in a much more effective way than Starlight ever did, either as Mayor Marks or as Twitchy McTimekiller.
