Time to get spooky
Chapter 7 of VC, the chapter with the giant tank, has been defeated. That was long and painful.

So as it turns out, I didnβt realize at first until I got the Mystery Gift, but I forgot that I get Pawmot instead of Pawmi. Guess I gotta catch a Pawmi, evolve it and then release it to finish that line.

Oddly enough that is their boarder policy. They have people come over temporarily to learn carear skills. Then they head home for their actual carear. Unless they like you and ypu have a sky high score on the JLP test you wonβt get a green card.

Internal consistency matters if a story is to be believable. The episode starts with Cheerilee giving a lesson in physics, which establishes that physics are applicable to the setting and relevant to the plot. By our understanding of physics, it is impossible that the carts could have completed the race course only from gravity on a small hill. If propelled only by gravity it is also impossible that Rainbowβs cart could have accelerated on its own. Therefore the carts must be powered by some kind of engine. Which means that each team carved their cart from a block of solid wood, built and installed the other parts, painted the cart, and either built a engine from scratch or purchased and installed a prebuilt engine, with hand tools, all in one day. My suspension of disbelief does not stretch that far.

Admittedly, the carts were only a minor problem compared to the other problems with the episode, but they bother me.

if japan was a person then heβd be an introverted person that wants to isolate himself from the world but when you manage to get him to open up you find out heβs actually kinda cool and fun to hang around.

So, I should probably explain where Iβm coming from when it comes to worldbuilding.
So, I should probably explain where Iβm coming from when it comes to worldbuilding.
Setting Details are things like history, the environment, magic, technology, etc. Worldbuilding is what you get when the storyteller puts some thought into what those details mean. They establish the setting details, and then do things that make the viewer go βAha!β, or βOh yeah, that is a thing they would do / that would happen!β
Pegasi control the weather and move clouds, so I think the fact that their city is made of clouds is a piece of genuinely good worldbuilding. A weather factory is kind of silly, but for a cute cartoon thatβs not trying to take itself seriously, itβs actually kind of cool. It could have not explained it, but the fact that itβs made in a factory characterizes the pegasi as βindustriousβ.
βTornado Dutyβ in Hurricane Fluttershy is also good worldbuilding. Another good example is how the unicorns used to move the stars, and this is reflected in the cosmic motif of Canterlotβs architecture. Or the way Starlight describes how to cast a transfiguration spell in All Bottled Up.
I love the Kirin. Kirin lore only has enough materiel for one episode, but they do a great job with it. Itβs like a chibi version of a Star Trek episode.
When the lore is good, itβs good. But itβs not consistent enough to be a selling point. Really, the picture I posted is a criticism of people who use cherry-picking to make the lore seem better than it actually is.
