It’s true, current head of Laika, Travis Knight, is the son of rich as fuck Phil Knight (Co-founder of Nike).
During the 90s Travis wanted to become a rapper and with the help of The Bomb Squad productions (and daddy’s dough) he got his one and only album Get Off Mine under the rapper name Chilly Tee. Travis liked the creation involved, but learned that the direct spotlight wasn’t for him so he went into animation. After Phil scoped up a money-troubled Laika, Travis joined as an intern there until he eventually rose in power from intern to lead animator to chairman to president and CEO.

And yes, I’m well aware of “Ratchet & Clank” bombing at the box office. But the thing is, I REALLY love the video game series, and seeing it on the big screen put a smile on my face. Twice.

I don’t want to call it stiff, but the prose is very no-nonsense. Imagine the sound of rain on a window but in text form. It’s just bam bam bam bam with the story. Going from one point to the next with no real unf to it at all. It’s like reading a script or a screenplay really.
