My experience back then in a nutshell interacting with others:  
Your average furry back then, “How dare you say a furry is just a hobby?! How dare you say that furry isn’t a sexuality! Christian n****r fundie! I’m going to track you down and chop your balls off for calling them just cartoons! Fuck you I’m a dragon!”
 
I quit I think 2008 or 2009 and sure the mods on their sites massively cracked down on the death threats, but good lord the fact they had people threatening to kill others over cartoons?

Don’t worry, someone online will tell them while reminding them their entire family tree with colorful vocabulary

So I’m at the library, and some sixth graders across from me are creating online profiles for some MMO. One of them asked the other for a creative username, and he responded “Yolotroll 17. Not Yolotroll20, because that’s hard to remember.”
 
I feel like I should tell them, but that’s not really my style.

I originally didn’t want to see the show or the movies cause of that but the plot twist I went, “didn’t see that coming”.  
spoiler of what the show is actually about: They’re all actually soylent green and aliens are harvesting them like cattle for the slaughter. The entire series can be summarized as one girl finds out they’re all on the chopping block to become soylent green so she abuses her powers over and over to try and stop her girlfriend from being next; as a result they think she’s the bad person cause they don’t believe her.

Yeah, it wouldn’t take much to wipe them out, all that has to happen is the water to dry up or there to be some kind of pollution put into the water and that’s it. I think they should breed them in captivity to ensure the survival of the species.
