I was on /v/. They love New Vegas, aside from b8 about how F3 or Tactics is better.
 
They also like Metroid Prime

I have over 1000 hours on Skyrim for PC with mods and have not defeated Alduin. I usually delete my characters after level 40.
 
It’s always “Should’ve been a mage” or “should’ve been a archer” or “should’ve been a sword and board warrior” or should’ve been a two hander warrior” or “should’ve been X race” or “should’ve been a female character with the skimpy armor mods”.
 
I don’t know what makes me keep playing it, but maybe it’s because of the simplicity of the combat and the stress free world. If I ever manage to get all the achievements, maybe I’ll go outside and find a cat to keep me company while I finish all those other steam games I’ve never played.

I’m not sure where communication is breaking down but I am agreeing with you.  
I’m saying Bethesda rpgs (and similar games) are games I don’t care to play on high difficulty because all they do is increase the stats of every enemy.

They should have kept the ai the same level; or at least offer a difficulty where you can play with it.

Exactly my point. It doesn’t make the game more rewarding.  
In Skyrim the added difficulty almost works as you get more experience that way due to the way TES games have you accrue experience.
 
Less so for Fallout 3 as it only buffs experience on enemy kills (a small portion of your xp); more importantly F3 already gives you too much experience as it is so hardly a big deal if you miss out on it

yeah that game is hardcorness at its finest.
 
to tell you, in beta stages the ai was so advanced, they could finish the game by themselves, and it was impossible for the player to advance, they had to tone it down and its still a pain in the ass.

Bethesda’s a bad example though; their idea of difficult is just to stack more and more health on enemies.

Difficulty, imo, is only fun in games which have really great gameplay.  
So games like Skyrim or the Bethesda Fallouts, no thank you. Because in both games, the added difficulty just makes the enemies have more health and/or do more damage. Add on top of that the barebones gameplay and you get a fairly unrewarding experience.
 
Seriously I just did a lot of Fallout 3 on Very Hard, I just ended up using a lot of bullets.
 
 
Also, quicksaving can be a bad habit.

It’s been a while since I’ve played a game this hard. 99.99% of the time when a game claims to be difficult what they really means is “on occasion if your health is too high or you haven’t died we’ll just occasionally spawn enemies out of thin air to take away your health”.
 
Games should not punish a player for being too skilled and unfortunately far too many now are punishing skilled players to give the illusion that their games are more difficult than they actually are. What I mean by this is let’s use a analogy; if you play fps games have you ever had a occasion where enemies spawn right out of thin air in front of your face then blows you to paste? That’s not a glitch, that’s intentional.
 
. . . You know what? I’m going to play ghosts and goblins again. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this good after completing a game.

I’ve played Ghosts and Goblins before, I’ve beaten it too, My Thumbs hurt for months

After playing through ghosts and goblins I think I’ve realized what makes a game good whereas other games total shitake mushrooms.
 
Ghosts and goblins and a ton of nearly impossible games are hard and make people rage, but they’re fair. Ghosts and goblins the only time it does something that’s total bs is when how weak the shield is and you can avoid it. If I die in say ghosts and goblins, contra or dark souls I know it’s cause I fucked up and not cause a lot of games just didn’t care about testing their game first. They don’t have a failsafe “Oh you’re too good at playing this game so we’re going to knock you down a peg” button or a failsafe “Oh they have too much health, better spawn a enemy right on top of him out of thin air to take 90% of his health so the game is harder” button.
 
On the other hand if you spawn 50 enemies out of thin air on top of a character and they take out 99% of your health and you have no way of defending yourself as your keyboard input is temporarily disabled by the game and then you have to go fight a hundreds of enemies all at once with only 1 hp left just cause the game thinks you’re playing too well that’s going to piss off a lot of people.
