What is pretty much happening over here is the people that normally just fling piles of money to get what they want but don’t actually have a plan don’t understand why they’re losing;
“Shit shit shit! We keep throwing money to try to keep gay marriage illegal, but it’s not working! I know what we should do! Throw more money!”
A couple of the cases the lawyers for trying to keep the gay marriage bans even admitted that they had no real plan and didn’t have any real legal justification for keeping the plan. You know a ban is going to get eventually repealed when even the lawyers in favor of the ban can’t even come up with legal justification.
During the DOMA hearing in the supreme court everyone started laughing at the guy cause the judges even asked him if he had any legal ground for the ban and he responded that he didn’t.
It’d be like someone walking into a court case and saying they’re going to represent someone and the judge asks them what qualifications they have and they respond by saying that cause they have money.
A more funny analogy is that imagine a chess competition and someone comes in with no real understanding of how chess works and then slams a hundred dollars on the table asking for them to let them win then they follow it up with asking “So what’s the name for the horsie?”
