He finds himself in love with Twilight.
 
Cadance knows this.
 
This changes some events, like A Canterlot Wedding being more of Cadance’s Batman Gambit against Chrysalis, much like how Celestia had her gambit against Discord.

I’d read that.

I had an idea for another clopfic, with Chrysalis using Zecora as a broodmother, but now I’m thinking of all the feels I could pack into that, like how she’s so cool with it and even friendly with the queen she’s done it so long, how the drones assigned to protect her care for her as a part of the hive, and especially when the little ones wiggle out of her, and over the short time before they have to go with the other drones, they come to love her as much as their own mother.
 
Just think of a gaggle of the buggers calling her “Mama Z”.

In my experience, the more skilled an artist is, the more critical of their own work they tend to be.

Is it just natural for a writer to look at their own work and think “wow, this sucks”? I feel like that’s a thing.

Well, my style of 2nd person isn’t that “you” in particular are the character. It’s a little hard to explain, but basically, if Twilight is biting your neck and moaning, she’s not going to be moaning “oh, anon”, she’ll be saying “Oh, Applejack”. It’s not really you.
 
While I’m on the topic, I’ve got an excerpt from the fic; I’m planning on making it pretty short.
 
It’s true that you won’t be sleeping much on this night, and usually, you’d have trouble sleeping anyways, but something in the attractive Canterlot complex makes you quite drowsy, a pull that makes the king sized bed look more attractive than your quivering bride. Maybe it was the energy of the wedding, or perhaps the months of planning ahead have finally caught up. But she’s still waiting, hiding her face with the wings that she had never gotten used to, almost in a state of shame. But you’re rooted to the ground, and can’t seem to get closer, so the two of you decide to stare each other down. The almost uncharacteristic silence of the sleeping Canterlot below adds to the inexpertness of the moment.
 
She wins.
 
“Applejack”, she murmurs, and you almost don’t hear your name, silently counting the stitches on the northernmost hemisphere of your hat. “There’s something I wanted to try.” Her lips move like a puppeteer’s witchcraft, awkwardly as she tries to be sexually attractive. She’s lidded her eyes as she makes slow, sauntering steps toward your place of root, but you know better, and she’s just as terrified as you.
 
Just once, I’d like to be able to not write so awkwardly.

I couldn’t say. I think its viewed as a cop out or that some people can’t relate if the version of “you” in the story isn’t 100% exactly like them, but I tend to stop reading when it becomes obvious people are just bitching about the a writing style they don’t like.
 
Probably has something to do with how douchey FIMfiction has gotten recently.

I find it enjoyable enough, but I know some people over on FIMfiction get pissy over it.

I got bored, so I started writing Applejack/Twilight clop (kind of) in the second person. Tell me, what do you guys think about the second person?

Even funnier would be the cringe-tastic comedy of Fluttershy, despite being the well-meaning healer, always getting herself killed, often through no fault of her own, just like Yellow.

Pretty much! The joy of Magica is accidentally murdering your party members (and pretty much everything else) with the spells.

The mane six would work best as the mages I think. There canon personalities filtered through the comedic sociopathy of Magica would work well I think. Of course, Chrysalis is Vlad. (“I am definately not a changeling!”)

Crossover between FiM and Magicka. Though how to decide who will be the mages: The Mane 6 or just unicorns?
