By the time the first act of A New Generation rolled around, his personal growth had plateaued. He got taken the furthest out of his comfort zone, and he handled it like a champ. Plus, the single dad representation was great.

Discord is chaos for chaos sake. While milkyway and other nymphs while yes do enjoy the chaos, the purpose is to make a change in the wisher / fulfill the wish

In the minority here saying yay. I honestly think his personality in MYM/TYT is sweet but I do wish ponies respected him as much as they did in the movie along with him having a stronger presence.

I feel like they probably softened his personality a lot to make him more likeable funny enough. My assumption is that having the token male character of the group be the cocky and tough one would make him less appealing than he already is being the only male character. Male characters were never the popular ones in MLP, so my guess is that they made Hitch more of a doormat character in the series so he can be more appealing.
It’s all up to personal preference really. I’ve seen a good amount of people prefer MYM/TYT Hitch and a good amount like ANG Hitch more 🤷♂️

It’s less that his job changed and more so important that his focus on being responsible and doing overly dedicated to order and others safety (sometimes to a fault) was simply shifted from one topic to another (with the former still occasionally flashing up)

Do we know when MLP Make Your Mark started and then ended production?It probably started production before A New Generation premiered. If I’m not wrong, I think Elley-Ray Hennessy (Grandma Figgy) suggested she would be part of the series in an event that, if I recall correctly, happened around May or June, 2021.
Wait! I remembered G5 was supposed to have only one series (according to the leaked e-mails from December, 2017). Then, it started production before the character designers for A New Generation were finished (early character designs for Tell Your Tale featured Zipp with an earring and Pipp with bright blue eyes).
