Maybe the band could be a reference to AC/DC, Peral Jam, Nirvana, or Avenged Sevenfold. But the mayor idea can work real well.

I even know exactly what group to use for Octy and Lightning’s is perfect for how I want to develop her character.
 
My only problem with Gilda’s is that I’ll have to make up a band for it.
 
But whatever shall Sunset do? Make and become Mayor of her own town?

For Octavia: Maybe a radical group wants to change the government but she must restrain them to prevent a violent revolution.
 
For Gilda: Bringing her favorite band back together after they have broken up for 20 or so years and motivating them.
 
For Lightning Dust: She must get a group of very bored and lazy students to find a way to get excited for school.

I like to think she’s just that forgiving.
 
She’s like a super version of Flutters that way.

The only clear thing is that she feels really, super bad about killing him.
 
I may be one of the few that see the princess of love as someone who would never kill someone on purpose.
 
And there are some other, Headcanon reasons for why she feels bad.

Now, Trixie’s greatest, element gaining achievement is to write a spell. I call it the VitaSomni, because it works by making something in a dream alive. The big deal about that is that while Trixie can make very simple things that already exists, and grows better in illusions as the story goes on, making something that not doesn’t exist (yet) and creating it with a life and mind of it’s own is something that has never been done before.
 
It’s basically a harder version of what every kid in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends could do.

Okay, I want my character to say a chant as she pays her respects to her victim in my story. How does this sound for a chant for crystal ponies to say at funerals:
 
Your body cold,  
Returns to stone.
 
Your soul freed,  
It’s light has shown.
 
Your mind spent,  
is all but gone.
 
Now let your heart,  
Guide you home.
 
How’s that? Could it be better?

Unlike most human on pony fics, I could totally see Brad Jones boning his way through Equestria. Well not see so much as hear if you follow me.

I have the desire to write a sequel to Brad’s Snobby Dad where Brad Flash Sentry and his father, Brad “Cinema Snob” Jones enter Equestria, but the only joke I can make from it is:
 
“So yer tellin’ me ah can make a lotta money by dancin’?” Applejack asked.
 
“Yeah… There’s a bit more to it than that, and trust me, there’s a way to earn even more money, but I want to discuss that privately.” said Jones.

Maybe make a crystal effigy of the dead ones and bury them underground?  
Also, I can see Gilda as the Necromancer from Castle Crashers.

Other than Sunset needing a small project that turns into a Cheknov’s later on, I have no idea what the others could do to earn theirs. Maybe:
 
Trixie-write a new spell?  
Octavia-face something that will destroy her bit by bit while she soliders through?  
Gilda-wake the dead?  
Lightning-do something impossible?
 
I’m stumped. On an unrelated note, does anyone know good ideas for the funeral practices of crystal ponies. It’s for a quick oneshot.
