TBH, I have a lot of issues with the way the new showrunner is promoting it. Like how he seems to be scrubbing Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko of their flaws—having Katara’s mom be killed in a spirit attack rather than a Fire Nation rade, removing Sokka’s early sexism, and giving some of Zuko’s war crimes to Zhao—and thereby scrubbing them of potential character development. Or the fact that he compared the new show to Game of Thrones, which… can we agree that comparing your adaptation to a series that notoriously dropped the ball and wiped out a lot of the goodwill people had towards it is not great in any case?
