Not really. Discord only showed signs after Fluttershy started helping him despite knowing who he was and what he was capable of. Cozy, meanwhile was never given any sort of chance after her defeat and she alongside the trio showed signs of possibly accepting true friendship all on their own without the same sort of help that Discord and Starlight needed. Therefore, they did show more signs, it’s just that they never got the help they needed to realize that potential.

The thing is this reasoning implies that no other character that reformed in the series would have also learned the power of friendship in frenemies. Considering all it took was for fluttershy to call him a friend once to start doubting himself, Discord showed more signs than cozy and if u go back to his first episode he looked sad when twilight didn’t wanna join in on the fun. Starlight would have probably been like chrysalis but we know at some part in her life starlight was good, while chrysalis stated she always dreamed of conquering since she was small.

It’s hard for me to really have a solid opinion on Cozy since the writers blatantly had no idea what to do with her. She’s intresting to me,but we never get any motivation from her,we never find out why she is the way she she is,and in the end she’s locked in stone, basically swept under the rug for someone else to deal with eventually. I would love for her parents to show up right after that and be all like,“hey, have you seen a little filly with curly blue hair around? We’ve been looking everywhere,and she needs to take her anti-psychotic medication!”

I should note, I’m more neutral on this, so…

 
Exactly this. Cozy showed more signs of redemption in Frenemies than most other redeemed villains in the show.

Nice ending? I don’t know how you can say that. Being turned to stone presumably forever has dire and morbid implications. Are they still conscious? If so then that would be a fate worse than death. Having to be awake for every living moment for eternity may just drive them to the brink of insanity.
 
If they’re unconscious in this state they may as well be dead seeing as they’re unable to move, breathe, or do anything for that matter. Like an eternal coma.
 
Personally the stoning of a kid was a terrible way to end the show who’s tones are all about friendship especially when episodes like Frenemies did a great job at setting up a potential redemption.
 
They could have just gone idea of giving them a chance at redemption as with this comic here. Just leave it up to interpretation whether or not they’d get another chance.

Tbf, she caused windigos to appear and nearly freeze the city. If the mane 6 hadn’t gotten their powers back, the city would’ve been completely frozen.

well personally, i just hate her well for what she did, mainly 2 things: 1) shooting twilight with the magic she stole, towards her new throne with no remorse; and 2) putting starlight in the same bubble that she made in the s8 finale

Attempted to destroy the city? Are you sure? Wasn’t conquest her goal? And really, one could argue that what Discord did was just as bad, if not worse.

When did Discord show any signs of being able to change before he was let out by Celestia’s orders? When was Starlight when she practically revealed that Our Town was really all about her? How could they possibly know that Cozy couldn’t change if they never tried reforming her? You can argue for how its her fault all along, but the fact remains that she was treated worse then more powerful villains of similar evil and caliber while she is a child. Heck, Tartarus was completely unnecessary because of it. A house arrest could have held her. The way they imprisoned her both times was complete overkill.

There’s also the fact that Discord himself said that he could hear everything around him, meaning that he was awake. While it isn’t a hundred percent possibility for Cozy, it’s still possible. This also adds to the fact that they literally never tried to so much as offer her a second chance after so many villains got it. Even Chrysalis got at least the damn offer.

I mean, I have a lot of things to say about many characters in the show, for better or worse. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Tempest Shadow, Starlight Glimmer, Twilight Sparkle, princess Luna, Sunset Shimmer… but Cozy Glow? I think I have more questions than things to say about her, whether are positive or negative. Where are her parents? Why is there a little pony just going around lonely with zero support? Why is she ambitious?
 
I don’t dislike her, I don’t hate her, but I was more confused with each episode with all this jank. What was the show accomplishing with this character?

I’m gonna be sincere and I’ll put my spin on it. I think being stoned is a nice faith for a MLP villain. The only “death” that was hardcore was Sombra’s defeat. And he died twice, but not in a grotesque way, but with lights and all that.
 
I think Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis being a statue is a nice ending for them.
 
I don’t think Cozy Glow was a well written character. She was barely a character. We don’t know anything about her or her parents. She doesn’t work in season 8 and 9. But that doesn’t mean I should hate her. The show has a lot of jank, but it’s not because of her.

Oh yeah. Totally her fault she got stoned. Definitely wasn’t the fault of Dipcord who bailed her out in the first place and got to be the one to decide the punishment.

Some people just won’t accept that she’s been stoned, all cause that they just instead benied the fact that she caused actions against others.
