Very interesting, so Discord has become old as I had assumed based on the evidence that has come so far, and become mentally unbalanced after Fluttershy’s death - which is now probably confirmed as the first of the Mane 6’s deaths. And the cover of # 6 suggests that Twilight may be dead, but it seems that her feathers are a sign that Sunny is her successor, and that the Unity Crystals are linked to the Mane 6.Could it be that the Mane 6 and the Unity Crystals are magically linked? We saw Rainbow Dash`s “signature” when the magic was released in the movie. And there are many indications that the crystals are a kind of “door” that can lead to the place from which the magic came to the ponies. Maybe Mane 6 after their death has ascended to the elsewhere and the crystals may be the way to them. That may explain Discord’s state of mind and obsession.This is very big. Twilight as alicorn can probably return, but probably only to help Sunny. And anyway, SOMETHING has happened, which makes Discord erratic, wiped out the middle Equestria, threw pony magic into extreme turbulence that may have driven the non-ponies to flee, and ensured that the ponies suffered collective memory loss.This is more than Discord and Mane 6.
