Graz: after some thought about it the eggheads got it right.  
By connecting tiberium roots together they produce a situation where they try to drain each other. Of course tiberium in natural state have their roots touching each others all the time and usually it just do a stable state where neither of them can drain the other but by sending an energetic flux in one direction, the balance can be broken so one tiberium crystal drain the proprieties of the other. At the end it produce an inert tiberium crystal and an extremely dangerous and unstable one that was the waste they disposed of. (Copy of my previous post about it)
 
We are still working on a prototype to test the idea but we have already a scheme of how it would be like. Maybe you own scientist will be able to do it for you too based on this.

Celestia sent a spell that fucked up the destinies of ponies if the spell is used incorrectly to Twilight, expecting her to fuck it up and in the process fuck up everypony there. This spell caused the Apple Farm to die off, ponies to start bickering amongst themselves, weather screwups, one of her Elements almost getting eaten, and she was expecting all this to happen and expect Twilight to not only fix this through a quick three minute reflection, but also add to the MacGuffin Spell and cause the elements to have her get wings. And she considers all this… a test.

This opens a new world of interpretation to Celestia.

Wait, so that didn’t happen because she used the spell wrong, that’s been the intention all along. Celestia just booked on it that she would fail to get it right on the first try, because if she happened to fix it she’d become alicorned without this important Test of Character.

The spell as a plot point just doesn’t work.  
It simply serves as a trigger to get the plot rolling, but this trigger disappears as fast as it appears and serves no other purpose. It is not deepend, expanded upon, fleshed out or explained in detail.  
And even as a trigger for the plot it is not that good, because the conflict is resolved so extremely fast and without any true hardship or trouble, that it feels less like a challenge or a test and more like a minor inconvenience.

Was a ‘test’ really required for that? Would Twilight, a creature almost completely lacking in self-interest, be expected not to unfuck a spell that screwed her friends? It sounds like something any decent person would do, and last I checked, those weren’t exactly a rare thing in Equestria. Or maybe it is. It seems like a pretty easy test to me.

The “spell” is just a test to see how Twilight handle a situation where she is responsible for messing up the lives of her friend. The ability to take responsibility and thinking of a solution as a friend and also a leader, something that she failed to do in Lesson Zero. You know,

And “The Thing” Is just about ready to be tested, So It’s not like I have anything urgent to do at the moment,

The two specials were also edited and added as the final episodes of each of the tv show’s seasons. The quality is definitely higher, but on the downside there are several edits, especially the cute opening sequences and a character driven song from each.  
I would recommend watching the originals first, then you can better appreciate the quality on the shortened tv versions later, if you like.
 
Is anyone able or willing to do a livestream for this? I would consider, and maybe I can test on livestream, but I don’t think my linux system and/or internet connection are strong enough for it. I hope it won’t be until mid-afternoon or later though (I’m Pacific time).  
We could always just view the videos on our own time and discuss when we can, of course.

Terrashell: * eye twitches and then face palms * Long story short i was walking through engineering one thursday and all of a sudden this new weapon zander was testing malfunctions and that is when i lost my ass to plasma and why everybody who goes in engineering on thursdays has wear full body armor.

I think the episode is gonna address some parts where people called Celestia out at in the form of Luna having bitterness for Celestia that was building up thanks to said moments.

Hazard: testing controlled Mutation and trying out to see if a tiberium Infusion can be made from blue crystals too, the old Project regenesis was promising but it was shut down.
