Zipp getting her own focus episode only 2 episodes in? Neat.
I’m oddly okay with “Zipsters” as long as it keeps being ironic.
Sunny works the smoothie stand. Thought she was just delivery but it still fits.
Nice that they kept Zipp’s fascination with flying intact here. Of course she would be the one to know how to fly, especially before most other pegasi. Also Thunder gets a name drop. Don’t know why the 2 guards are here (bodyguarding their princesses?), but they weren’t named in the movie so neat.
That flashback was adorable and is a great explanation for Zipp’s love of flying.
All in all pretty meh episode when Zipp wasn’t onscreen. Fairly good when she was.

We open Sisters Take Flight with a pair of pegasi bumping into each other while flying. I dig it, again acknowledging that these ponies have only just recently started taking to the air.
Okay the bag joke was funny. Pipp struggling to overpack a single suitcase is a tired trope. I rolled my eyes thinking “Just pack 2 cases”, only for the punchline being she packed a whole pile of them. Credit to the show with that one.
Loved Zipp’s little panic over her royalty “cosplay”. She’s the crown princess set to replace her mother, but while the movie didn’t dwell on it there were hints she didn’t care to become queen. Her rejection of the clothes leans into that.
Okay so the royals are back to being beloved by the pegasi. It was kinda up in the air about that in the movie.
Haven confirms Zipp’s the future queen! I forget if the movie said it outright or if it was just in the promo material. But neat.
Oh the episode is all about the princesses moving out. I was wondering why they never addressed that but here they are.
No unicorn cared that Izzy left Bridlewoods, but she imagined a big send off. There’s quite a bit to unpack there.
And we close with both a sweet moment between the sisters, and a hilarious brick joke with Pipp’s luggage.
This was a surprisingly good episode.

Izzy can’t control her magic in her sleep. That’s cool, pegasi needs to learn how to fly and unicorns need to learn to control their magic. And now I am once again thinking of how earth ponies got the short end of the stick.
I could swear I’ve seen Izzy’s tiara before but I can’t place it.
Okay so Hitch doesn’t live with the rest of the group. Or at least doesn’t sleep at the Crystal Brighthouse. Makes sense since he owns his own home.
I was worried the “Nightmare Roommate Izzy” episode was going to be annoying, but she wasn’t that bad. And it turns out that she only acted that way in a poor attempt to imitate her friends was nice.
An okay episode.

A fairly decent introduction to the series if nothing else.
