I am sure there will be a need for a new School of Friendship since the previous School that Twilight founded was shut down around the time that Equestria lost its magic.

Though I don’t think it will be a college, per se-Equestria doesn’t seem to have traditional colleges-but a return of the School of Friendship, with Sunny being the head, does make sense. But on the other hand she wouldn’t be the ‘first graduate’ due to her being the head of that school.

Self-esteem graduation makes sense, given the context being the next of NATG 2022. But I have never seen Beavis and Butt-head, so I don’t know how such a graduation would relate to that show specifically.

Graduated what, though? Sunny isn’t a school student in the show-rather she is a full-time worker, operating a smoothie stand. And there aren’t any universities in Maretime Bay, from what I have seen.

The former, obviously. Sunny genuinely wished she could meet a unicorn and be friends with them. She never said anything like “Ha, guess my father was right after all!” She knows the peace and harmony of Equestria is what’s most important and not her father’s belief. It’s just that that’s what her father taught her. She took that lesson to heart and genuinely wanted her own world to be better.

Does sunny want to bring back magic because its the right thing to do or to prove that her father was right?

In regards to this, first of all I don’t think that the other species went extinct. They were too intelligent to completely die out due to the loss of magic in the Kingdom of Equestria. In fact, I think it is very possible that magic continued to exist in these isolated kingdoms even when Equestria itself lost magic. After all, so long as they continued to get along with each other they wouldn’t have lost their own magic. Instead, my theory on what happened to the other magical creatures is that they went into hiding, keeping to themselves for the most part for the last thousand years. And it makes sense, as that is exactly what the different pony species did as well. As for the outlying cities that were controlled by ponies, who knows. Some of them would have disappeared when Equestria lost its magic, though there are likely a few that were far enough away from the borders of Equestria to not be so heavily affected. I think Kludgetown is a good example of this.

I can get with this. It’s not some universal field that has been restored, but its seed is now established and will spread so long as the ponies carry their friendship forth.

I can’t say I agree, but it’s definitely a nice grimdark premise to play with. That still leaves the questions of:

Given what we know so far, I think those three cities is literally all that remains of old Equestria, Publiqclopaccountant. The three tribes all split into each of those three cities, with all the other old cities of Equestria having been abandoned. Though with that said there is definitely a lot of wilderness that Sprout could have traveled to following ‘a New Generation’. And I don’t think that the magic would have reached those parts of Equestria just yet, instead mostly being found in areas where there are a lot of ponies getting along.

It also begs the question of just how much Equestria is left to re-unify. So far, we’ve only seen three cities. Is that all that remains? If there is more, has the restoration of magic reached those far-off places yet?

Yeah, I agree with you there. Honestly, I do think it would be neat to see another pony get turned to stone as Discord (and later Tirek, Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, and the Storm King) did in G4. However, I don’t think that is what happened with Sprout Cloverleaf. Either he is in a temporary jail not too far away from Maretime Bay, or (as Pinto Bean suggested) he is in exile somewhere (though that begs the question of where would he be exiled to, now that Equestria is reunited).

before sunny and others offer him any redemption, he first needs to be treated the same way the g4 mane 6 did with discord, to make sure he doesn’t do anything foolish with them, others, and/or anything else.

You’re jumping to some bad conclusions about me. I’m not against incarcerating certain dangerous individuals, but I take exception to mass-incarceration, privatized prisons and the U.S. justice system being far too punitive and arbitrary in general. Detroit has a major drug problem like a lot of big cities. It’s not all black and white, and it’s not as simple as locking everybody up that does something illegal. You’re welcome to disagree with me but you don’t need to point your finger and be harsh about it.

You seem like the type of person that loves seeing crime on your streets. Maybe that’s a reason why Detroit is so messed up. People like you think that incarceration is a ‘bad thing’ when in reality it helps protect the law-abiding citizens of a city. Sure, prison is torture, but it is meant to be an incentive for people to obey the local laws! Wether you like it or not, without prisons there would be no protection for people like you to do your own jobs, unless you armed yourself. Ironic that you said how many crazy people there are in the world, and yet despite that you are still against the prison system.

As for having it in MLP, well, I think it is something that still could exist without being on the level of the real-world prison system. I mean, prisons have been seen in plenty of cartoons in the past, including ones meant for kids. They are very lighthearted versions of prisons, though, not meant to showcase the problems with real-world prisons. I think that is the route that Hasbro wants to go in with G5 MLP-having a proper justice system in Equestria, one thing that I took issue with in regards to G4 (they had tons of criminals in G4 that they didn’t lock up-I really hated that).

Have to disagree with you there my friend. Lockup in our world is dehumanizing. It’s nothing like you see in cartoons. It’s not a joke. It’s not civil. It’s torture. Yes, there are bad people that need to be locked away to be sure. But we’re talking about a fantasy world meant for children here. Talk to me about pony drug cartels, pony sexual sadists, pony gangbangers and pony serial-killers and it all just starts to sound ridiculous. Likewise, talk to me about ponies getting locked up for the myriad of stupid petty things people typically get locked up for (drunk driving, drug posession. probation violations, FoTC, etc.) and that sounds pretty stupid too. Maybe in some twisted brony AU, but not in Equestria proper. We’ve been desensitized to mass-incarceration. We just assume that that it’s a good thing. It’s fucked up. It’s the byproduct of our modern society and its foolish policies. Could we see some backstory about say, a pegasus being wrongfully detained by unicorns or earth ponies? In theory yes, but that would be gut wrenching. I would hope they handle something like that with some class. Go too far down that rabbit hole and they risk descending into madness. But really, do we need our fantasy worlds to mirror our own that badly? Not I, friend. I like my ponies simple & sweet. This is obviously a sensitive issue for me, and we’ve gone way off topic, so I won’t be commenting any further on this subject.
