It seems to be very easy to get a very long and thought-out argument from you in response to just a few words on somebody else’s part. This gives anybody who wants a “good” reaction from you exactly what they wanted. When multiple people realize that you are easy to tease, they will start or continue to to tease you. If you want to prevent this from happening, when you see a hateful comment, ignore it and report it instead of trying to reason with the troll. I would not worry too much about it though; after all, my response is just a hypothetical solution based on what I have noticed.
I don’t feel like responding to each individual part of your comment, but to get the general gist down, no, I haven’t actually seen any of those other movies, and neither has anybody I know, but I wasn’t really making criticisms of them as much as an observation. You don’t like Zootopia, that’s fine, and hey, if you have seen those two movies and think they deserved to win, more power to you. And yes, you are correct. If I were being 100% fair, then no, dismissing two movies I haven’t seen based on the fact that they are unpopular is not a good criticism. And if I were 100% fair, I would have to switch to analytical mode and give each movie an equal opportunity to prove itself. But here’s the thing: Last night, I was not in analytical mode. Last night, I was in hyper, passionate fanboy mode. I didn’t care about who made the other two films or how good they were. It had been a weekend of hell and was right before a week of more hell, and I just wanted nothing more than to see one of my favorite movies of the year defeat the competition, which is exactly what I got. Movies, TV, music, etc. are my escape from having to be in seriously serious mode all the time. It’s like being in the audience at the Super Bowl: it’s less likely that people are going to judge each team objectively and give them a fair chance, and more likely that they are going to gush like crazy over their predetermined favorite team and boo the other team if they score.I mean, come on. I’m sure you’ve fanboyed over something before and just wanted to see it win. Not everybody has to be in analytical mode 100% of the time, and I’ll admit that maybe I’m in fanboy mode a little too often, but I don’t get the need to be so confrontational about it.
Am I a terrible person?
Do I suck at expressing my opinions coherently?
If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization
, wings
, and spread wings
would all be found by a search for wing
, but sewing
would not be.
