Celestia had absolutely NOTHING to do with Luna’s descent into Nightmare Moon  
apparently that is crazy considering how many fan works that delve into it, directly blame Celestia for it

This is why I hated it when Discord bowed infront of Celestia. I was expecting him to prank her or something. But NO because Celestia is the greatest who all should worship and adore and those who dont are demons who must be excuted

I would give anything for a brief lampshade on that for the show.
 
Principal Celestia did everything in her power to get star student Twilight to stay at her school, but winded up looking like a creepy stalker and Twilight almost got the police involved.
 
Celly is still a tad bitter from the experience.

Celestia likes to think they’re close, but Twilight obviously isn’t as close to the princess as she thinks, seeing as Twilight is scared shitless of Celestia for no reason, didn’t take her order to make friends seriously, and couldn’t see through Celestia’s secret test of character in “Crystal Empire.” Celestia obviously sees Twilight as a trusted friend, but Twilight’s just as scared and awed of Celestia as the rest of ponykind.
 
Rather sad, really.

I like to think that Twilight is closer to Celestia partially because of her skill in magic, but also because Twilight, before she met the other Mane 5, was just like Celestia, a pony who simply didn’t “get” other ponies.

I’ve got the Headcanon that Celestia just has trouble “getting” mortal ponies, and has difficulty understanding them emotionally. She tries, but the difference in perspective is just too great, to the point that even her bond with Twilight is strained and weak.

That’s actually not too crazy.

Princess Celestia has a serious blind spot when it comes to family issues. She doesn’t notice blatantly odd behavior even when it’s right in front of her.
 
For example, she didn’t notice Princess Luna’s descent into madness until it was too late, she didn’t notice Princess Cadance’s callous behavior when she was replaced by Queen Chrysalis, and she didn’t notice Prince Blueblood had at the notorious Grand Galloping Gala switched out with his body double so he could have some private time with the Sea Pony ambassador’s daughter.

Fluttershy and Blueblood are cousins.
 
For now, neither of them know.

They both have the “Crazy Horse” gene that can lead to catastrophic episodes of insanity, given the right circumstances.

Button’s mom and dad are divorced. He only says “I live with my mom and dad in Ponyville” because he doesn’t quite understand yet that his father will not be coming back.

I like to think that the Changelings have a deal with the Crystal Empire: Protect the Empire from Windigoes, and we’ll pay/feed you with love-energy from the Crystal Heart. Chrysalis agrees, partially because the Changelings and Windigoes have a long-standing feud and will try to kill each other on sight anyway (Changelings feed on love, Windigoes feed on hatred) and partially because, hey, free food.
 
Though Chrysalis, a natural schemer, soon grows tired with the honest, if occasionally brutal, work and misses the thrill of infiltration. She decides to become a spy for Princess Luna (she refuses to take orders from Celestia or Twilight out of pride).

Chrysalis has a plan to fake an attack on the crystal empire.
 
If she succeeds, the crystal ponies will activate the crystal heart, which her swarm will devour the love energy from, giving them enough energy to stay quiet for six months to a year, tops.
 
Because the heart is designed to kill things that destroy love, not run on it.

Cadance and Shining Armor are bound by fate to die within minutes of each other. You’d think Cadance would be freaking out about Shining going off to battle, but keep in mind he is Captain of the Guard as well as a master of defensive magic.

yep, also in all the stuff where Sweetie Belle uses magic and all it does is light stuff on fire is because Luna tried to teach her.

So in other words, if you’re planning to fight her you should invest in a fireproof suit.

Luna is terrible at magic, if she uses any spell that isn’t the spell to move the moon it ends up lighting stuff on fire

The material is present in most magical creatures, objects, and the environment. High powered crystals emit magical radiation into the environment and can have various effects on things in that environment. Dragons consume crystals to fuel their fire. Unicorn horns have high concentrations of the material and functions as a rod to focus the magical energy into usable amount.

Magicite was never used to power tech in FF6, drained magic from espers was.  
Magicite showed up much too late in the game.
 
And materia occurs naturally from a source of magic (teh planet) and as such fits the “fossilized magic” designation much better

it was magic crystals used to power technology, magicite was used to power technology in FFVI’s world well that or steam, materia was just for humans to use magic, Mako was for technology in FFVII’s world

No. One is made from dead espers and the other occurs naturally from an opaque magic source.  
The analogy works better in that regard than magicite.

Discord likes to travel through dimensions just for the fun of it, but resets them all because “Too much chaos is bad chaos, even for me!”.
