I can see what you mean, but he is that type of character after all.  
What do you mean about derailing an episode though? In my view, any character taking part in an episode is as much part of the story as the story makes them a part of itself, which is to say, they’re always a part of the story.
 
how can you say that Discord derails an episode at will, anymore than Rarity, or any of the main characters would?

I’ve been thinking about how to say the same thing. He basically has plot immunity and can derail any episode at will.. and he’s Meghan’s favorite character to write so expect to see a lot more of him in the future.

ANOTHER Discord Episode is showing up and it’s about time I fucking say something. I don’t like Discord. He’s an obnoxious prick who bullies and harasses the rest of the cast and gets away with it continually for no reason what-so-ever. He’s annoying and we’ve all strung up more major characters for less than what he does in every appearance.  
Seriously, screw him.

no.. I am not getting into this. You can argue power in itself is an end, I disagree, power always has been a means to an end. Even when people don’t realize it, the power they seek often seems to only feed at their insecurities, lack of confidence, superiority complex, beliefs, etc.
 
You feel free to argue that all day, I’m not feeling like discussing something like this. That there is my opinion and I’m ending it at that.

I still don’t see how “Power” Isn’t a good enough motive for Sombra. A lot of real life events happened because of simple reasons.
 
Jews were enslaved just because the egyphtians wanted cool buildings  
The whole Nazi Thing happened because “My race is better than yours”  
Heck some wars happened because one person insulted another one.
 
Evil isn’t always gonna have a big long childhood related reason behind it

you know, I have a similarly hard time on Nightmare Moon.. I usually only get that she’s the worst villain, but for one thing, her motives followed with her actions.
 
She’s not the best villain obviously, but she wasn’t as bad as people make her out to be. The way I usually explain her non-lethal ways of stopping the mane 6? To her and everyone watching the episode at the time, as well as paying attention, those aren’t the Elements of Harmony yet, they’re some citizens / villagers.. To better explain, her motivation was jealousy for not getting adoration, right? so, why spill the blood of her to-be subjects?  
It makes sense to me anyway.. she’s obviously more about becoming not ruler of the world, but replacing Celestia all together.
 
I would say even that for me, NMM will forever be infinitely better than Sunset Shimmer in the role of a show villain. I’m not saying that she’s the best, I accept the reality of her too, but even with that, I think she was a fairly decent villain, not outstanding, just good enough.

hard to believe that someone here who likes Sombra agrees with what I said. that is, if I’m not mistaking that you are a fan of Sombra.
 
 
maybe they could make his return, who knows… I would prefer not to personally, but what I said earlier is that I hope for their sakes it’s not just another scenario in which he needs to be stopped.  
one example that I can think for him returning, is tapping into magic that attempts to restore his sanity back, having it either fail or succeed, maybe having a bit of a surprise in store for us regarding the final outcome of that experiment.  
Admittedly, the chances of that scenario happening would be 0 to none.. it’s more fitting of a story for something like a Batman episode, than an MLP:FIM one.

People can make documentaries about what they want. I would like to see one about the show though.

I don’t like the idea of people keep making documentaries about this fandom. One is enough. If people don’t like us, showing them more documentaries won’t change a thing. In fact, it will just give some the excuse that we are “trying too hard to make ourselves look good”. And we are, with those documentaries.
 
Why not instead make a documentary about FiM, about how great it is, being the best cartoon aimed for girls since forever, with some mention of bronies as an example of quality?
