True, but remember, killing is always the last resort. Celestia thought the Mane 6 could use the Elements of Harmony and somehow purify or imprison Chrysalis, but the Changelings already thought of that.
 
Celestia decides to step up to the plate, but she intentionally limits herself to prevent accidentally incinerating everypony in the room. She just wants to smack Chrysalis around, make her know that this is HER kingdom, and NOPONY is going to take it over, not today, not ever. Unfortunately, not even Celestia is all-knowing, and Chrysalis gets an unexpected power-boost from the intense love Shining Armor has for Cadance. Notice that Chrysalis’ facial expression is one of great shock, one of “Holy shit, I actually did it! I actually beat her!”
 
Of course, when Cadance and Shining Armor literally blow Chrysalis and the Changelings away, they could very well be dead, or at least heavily injured. They were thrown clear across the horizon!
 
I don’t think anypony knew exactly what the Crystal Heart was going to do to Sombra, but they had to do something to stop him; this was pretty much the only option they had in the little time that they had.

I like to think that Luna practices the form of necromancy that’s more like “working with the dead” rather than “controlling the dead”. She will hold seances to contact a dead relative, but you better have a really good reason: they do not like being woken from their well-deserved eternal rest just so you can ask if you could get a little extra than what was stated in their will.
 
Speaking of that, despite being probably immortal, both Celestia and Luna have wills. Just in case.
 
In medieval times, unicorn horn filings were sold and used as an aphrodisiac. Even today, it’s traditional on Hearts and Hooves Day to give your special somepony food in the shape of a unicorn horn (usually chocolate).
 
Pegasus wing feathers can regrow, except for elderly pegasi. The vast majority of elderly pegasi live on the ground, for obvious reasons.

Actually your right. Stallions have more body styles than Mares. While Mares are almost all the same except for a Couple of black sheeps.

Generally speaking. But, there are some exceptions of course. Allie Way is actually quite tall for a unicorn mare, and Featherweight seems to be taller than most colts his age. The Perfect Stallion song showcased many different pony body shapes, at least for stallions. Stallions tend to have more unique appearances compared to the mares.

Despite what we’ve seen in the show there is quite a bit of difference in physical size between pony subspecies, we just don’t see it on the show because of artistic licence. Earth ponies are the largest, most actually being around Big Macintosh’s size and tend to be quite muscular. Unicorns are in the middle, they stand about the same height as a large dog and tend towards fat as they don’t burn as much calories as earth ponies or pegasi because they can rely on magic to move stuff around. Pegasi are roughly as tall as unicorns, maybe a bit shorter, but are the leanest of the pony species.
 
There are of course many variations, such as Snowflake who attained greater than earth pony size through rampant steroid use.
 
Alicorns are as big as normal earth horse when fully grown.

Further headcanon
 
Most ponies aren’t very religious, they see no need to be. They know the princesses raise the sun and the moon, and that pegasi are responsible for the weather so they have very few reasons to even think about religion other than in the odd emergency.
 
Curses, ghosts and zombies all exist despite what Twilight thinks. They’re just contained by the pony equivalent of the SCP.

I got into D&D with 3rd edition, thus I despise 4th as all the people who got into it with AD&D despise 3rd. Its nerd law I’m afraid, when 5th edition finally comes out you’ll have to hate it. ^{I’m also more into Shadowrun than anythingelse these days.}

It varies from setting to setting honestly, and it all depends on what it actually does.
 
For instance in D&D it really isn’t all that evil itself, just favored by evil people for offensive purposes. A lot of people forget that in D&D healing magic is technically necromancy (at least it was in 3rd edition).
 
In general it is considered evil because of the various societal taboos against the desecration of the dead, and those come from our own primal fear of dead things.
 
Lets face it someone with an army of the undead doing their bidding is probably not up to anything good, although the idea of someone raising a bunch of zombies to make their charity work more efficient is hilarious.
 
In my headcanon necromancy is banned because its sort of regarded as gateway black magic. Yes technically it doesn’t matter that you’re just using corpses to do your house work, but it too easily leads to stuff like making pacts with demons and maniacal laughter.
