Ugh, my Internet connectivity has alternated between being down and running really slowly throughout the past five hours. I haven’t been able to get onto Skype; I haven’t even been able to get onto Google’s homepage. That’s how slow it’s been.

LOL, dude, if you’ve heard the music that I usually make, you would know just how inspired I am by the sounds of the ’70s, ’80s, and ‘90s. The long hair fits with that, and honestly, it’s not even that long.

Same. For me personally, the year wasn’t bad. This year, I got my first paid musician job–and a well-paying one, too–I started going to college and finished my first semester with straight As, I got my band Dark Matter back together, my newest music video has become my highest viewed so far at over 54,000 and still rising, and I actually got a girlfriend. As much as people are saying “Screw 2016,” I disagree.

As much as people are saying “Screw 2016,” I disagree. (And it’s still better than 2014, when my band broke up, my girlfriend dumped me, I fell into a deep depression, my grades plummeted, I lost custody over half the songs on an album I’d been working on for a long time–long story–I was robbed, and a friend of mine was murdered.)

Unpopular opinion: This year has been pretty good for me. Yeah, it’s been one of the worse years for the world in recent history, but I’m proud of what I got done during the year and won’t let the negative parts spoil the positive parts for me.

The thing is, this has happened before. My song The Narcissist was accused of being a misogynist prick by someone who misinterpreted the lyrics as me saying that all girls are shallow narcissists, when that was not the intention whatsoever.
 
Now it could happen again, but the thing is, these attempts to censor music and art are nothing new and have been going for a long time. In the 1980s, it was “Think of the children!” with Tipper Gore and the Parents’ Music Resource Center. Now it’s “Think of the women/people of color/gays/transsexuals!” The motivations may be different and the groups may be named differently, but in the end, it’s the same fucking thing. And you won’t hear me swear a lot, but this is something I feel strongly about.

I feel like I may have to do so more and more. There’s one song that I’ve written that I think may be my best and my most likely to become a big-selling hit, but I’m afraid to release it because people may assume that it’s sexist.

By the way, I heard a perfect response on Tumblr to the “If you feel a need to defend that you’re not racist, then you probably are” argument:  
“You’re a pedophile.”  
“Actually, I’m underage myself.”  
“Sorry, but if you feel a need to defend that you’re not a pedophile, then you probably are.”
 
I can’t find the source for that, but if someone can, that would be great.

Actually, sexual compatibility includes whether you even want to have sex or not. For me, if you’re going to be in a relationship with me, I do eventually want to have sex. I don’t feel like that is a sexist statement. Everybody has their preferences, and I will relate it back to the idea of forcing gay people to have sex with women.
 
With the first one, I was meaning more of the idea that “If you’re accused of being a racist and try to defend that you aren’t, then you’re racist; if you don’t defend that you aren’t, you’re still racist.”

The thing is, nearly everything nowadays can be misinterpreted as racism. I dared mention in passing on deviantART that I wasn’t a fan of the 2014 Annie movie, and someone said, “So you just can’t accept the fact that Annie is black?” This is why I feel I need to clarify that I’m not racist. And yeah, I agree with what you say; Godwin’s law has basically been thrown out the window among these people.
 
This isn’t to say that there isn’t racism in the world, but assuming that everything is racist and not allowing the person you’re accusing to defend him/herself is stupid.

I guess I should have been clued in the moment I read her Tumblr. Or maybe the dyed hair should have done it, but then again, plenty of girls have dyed hair.
 
And this girl seems to be a raving SJW type, too. One of the ones who says, “If you feel a need to clarify that you’re not racist, then you probably are,” and “You don’t need to have sex to have romance,” and “If you wouldn’t date a transsexual, then you’re transphobic.” How does that even work?
