The Deathclaws can easily be dealt with the right weapons and ammo. The Anti-Material rifle with explosive rounds, alien blaster if you got the wild wasteland trait, properly upgraded Laser Rifle or Holorifle or the Q-35 Plasma rifle with max charged energy cells, the Ranger Sequoia, Paciencia with a 1st recon beret, and Boone with the All American.

I’ve played New Vegas a lot…but I’ve also played 4 a lot. Enough to know that my favorite damage dealing weapon is the 6 crank laser musket. New Vegas just had more and better options though. The weapons feel more unique and the different ammo adds more strategy

I mean, NV also has its fair share of bullet sponges. Too many to be frank. And again, they put much more effort in 4’s gun play. When was the last time you even played it?

I play on consoles. I see no difference since the gunplay has always kinda sucked. I lean more towards New Vegas since I dislike bullet sponge enemies

You might need to get a decent PC than, since NV’s gun play is shit. 4 has much better gun play.

That being said, the behavior of Human enemies that do things like take cover is better

But the gunplay is still kinda the same regardless. Except New Vegas has the better guns that are more powerful rather than the bullet sponge type enemies we have in 4

That’s game design, not gameplay. Gameplay is playing the game and the controls/gun play.

I highly disagree as well, and this is coming from someone who LIKES 4

The Perks in New Vegas, the weapon mods, the weapons themselves, the skill checks, the branching paths, the designs for the creatures, even the atmospheric music is all better than 4.

Hell, the plant vault alone is one of the best side quests in any Fallout game

Ah ok

The second one does a bit of both. The grey splotch covers the whole map of both Fallout 1 and 2, and the green splotch going from Kansas to Wisconsin really is the map travelled in Tactics, and the green splotch over in Maryland covers all of 3’s map.

I don’t know what the two splotches in the north-west portion is for, and for some reason it covers the Legion’s territory when we don’t go there.

Are these including places where you can actually wander around in, or just places where we know stuff happend in?

These 2 maps cover where the locations we’ve seen are set in, as well as roughly covering the whole game map.

It’s just missing FO 76’s inclusion of West Virginia, but as far as I can tell 76’s map covers pretty much the entirety of the state.

I’m kinda surprised at how much walking the Vault Dweller did.

So from my knowledge the Fallout series has had games/DLC set in:

Boston
Las Vegas
Alaska
Pittsburgh
West Virginia
California
And Washington

Any ideas where the next game should take place?

I’d say Florida becuase tht place would fit right at home with the Fallout world X)

Than the gameplay keeps you invested. That’s why people can tolerate a bad story in games. NV just isn’t fun to play for me, even less than the first Fallout game in my opinion. At least 3 has nostalgia and 4 fun shooting and crafting. NV just isn’t fun or engaging.

I’m an uncultured philistine who had more attachment to 4’s plot, characters and setting more than NV. But even though I concede that NV is likely the better crafted story, nothing will change the fact that NV’s gameplay makes me want to kill myself (in Minecraft) while 4’s gameplay doesn’t make me want to kill myself (in Minecraft).

So yeah, if Fallout was a book then I’d say NV would be better. But as a game 4 is better.

I have to disagree. A game can play amazingly, but if the story doesn’t keep you invested, what’s to make you come back. Look at AC3. It played well, even had good boat mechanics, but everyone I talk to complains about the story of it.

The story and choices of New Vegas mixed with the graphics and gameplay/features of 4 would make for the ideal Fallout game imo

I can’t agree. NV was a slag to play through. Gameplay matters more than story with video games. Good gameplay can make up for a bad story, but bad gameplay with a good story will just make me watch a video on it instead.

You put 4 at top, but the story for 4 is MUCH weaker compared to NV and 3, gameplay or not. I’d rather replay NV or 3 than replay 4.
