The “earth pony as separate character (Writing Desk)” fanon has basically been left hanging on the lack of canon details about her alternation between between earth pony and unicorn.

I’m not familiar with the sources of these names so I can’t chime in on whether it’s appropriate for “raven inkwell” to be the canonical tag, but in general I’m in favor of changes that reduce confusion (ie. easy to misuse “raven”, harder to misuse “raven inkwell” for “raven (bird)” or “raven (teen titans)”)

Some images of Raven are also tagged with her full name, Raven Inkwell. I’d argue for the full name as the actual tag, but even if we’re sticking with just the part that was confirmed in the comic, aliasing seems appropriate.
