purpleflix is an actual bona fide sex pest who tried to groom multiple children, got caught, gave a bullshit apology, and then immediately tried to groom more minors when he thought no one was looking. he’s a manipulative predator and an active threat to the community and does not deserve a platform of any kind, regardless of how “nice” you think his art is. drawing fictional underaged characters for sexual gratification is one thing, but actually directly harming underaged people in the real world for sexual gratification is the kind of shit that warrants ostracization at the VERY least.

the fallout mod devs made a very public show about disavowing him and tried to blame him for all the weird fetish shit that made it into the final version of the mod but pretty much everyone saw right through their bullshit. sadly it seems that a lot of people in this very fandom have issued a fatwa against him now that he’s bad optics for the fandom even though maybe 90% of all popular mlp artists have done foalcon art in the past. it’s incredibly transparent and brazenly hypocritical, especially considering some of the people publicly attacking him have themselves drawn foalcon art in the past (and for the record i’m not pro-foalcon by any stretch of the imagination, i just think the double standard being shown here is asinine.)

so in spite of all the shit i said earlier this year i’m gonna go ahead and enter my oc in the collab this year too because why the hell not. this is my boi right here; if anyone’s interested in drawing him, feel free to reach out - i’d love to hear from y’all!

i was referring to the large-scale community backlash starting around 2017 against nazi/alt-right subsets of the community, most notably the furry raiders, whose mere presence was enough to get an entire furry convention (RMFC 2017) canceled due to security concerns. the following year, all furry raider accounts were universally banned from furaffinity. even the less extreme instances, such as alt-right-affiliated community figures like 2 the ranting gryphon experiencing a precipitous decline in popularity, show just how stark the difference is between how the 2 communities are when it comes to acceptance of bad actors - the only person in the entire fandom i can think of that’s been well and truly “canceled” is TK, albeit due to him being a dangerous sex pest rather than any ideological causes.
 
moreover, i’m fairly certain that a major factor in why nazi furs have produced more art/content/etc. than the brony fandom is that the furry fandom is a) larger and b) much older, with the earliest nazi furry art dating back to the 1990s or even earlier.

oh shit, you’re right, i’m not going crazy after all. damn change-blindless. welp, looks like my stance is shared among only 16% of voters, so i am very much in the minority here. i guess that’s one of the big differences between us and the furry community; for them, the “no nazi content at all” stance would almost certainly dwarf the others in popularity while here it’s the opposite.

the fact that the first option currently has more votes than the other three combined kinda makes me wonder if i’m going crazy. that and the overwhelming wave of DNPs the first time derpi staff reneged on the nazi ban would seem to indicate that the vast majority of people who patronize the site want all nazi stuff gone period, and yet i still feel like a tiny minority whenever i say anything to that effect here. like, is this one of those “silent majority” situations or are the libertarian or anti-censorship or pro-nazi crowds just disproportionately vocal? because if that’s the case then derpi staff continuously equivocating seems like they’re trying to please the minority rather than the majority. i know earlier i said i’d given up on trying to force the issue because i figured that i was too insignificant to have any say in the matter but now i’m wondering if i threw in the towel too soon…

just for the record, i’m not leaving this site after all. i’ll still be here to peruse art support artists that i feel are worth supporting. nothing else tho, no derpi community collabs or anything like that. i’m well and done with that.
 
this war i’ve been waging has gained me nothing and cost me everything. my passion for the fandom is gone, my trust in the community has evaporated, my enthusiasm for the show itself is torpid, and everyone else (including myself) thinks i’m just a loudmouthed asshole. i lost. my say in the matter is irrelevant. it stings like a motherfucker to come to that realization but it is what it is. losing one of my longtime twitter mutuals over my singular obsession with this drama is what finally broke me. i don’t care anymore. i don’t care if this site turns into fucking /mlpol/‘s PR rep.

ok, that’s a fair cop, sorry. i’m kind of on a schadenfreude high right now and it’s easy to forget that, y’know, we still have rules and stuff.
 
to put what i said more mildly, i really don’t feel that parasprite is worthy of respect because i found both her actions and her intentions to be morally and ethically repugnant. she offers to help diffuse a difficult situation, is effectively handed the keys to the site, and what does she do? she uses her newfound powers to cater to the /mlp/ crowd by undermining her colleagues and running around behind people’s backs trying to railroad her agenda into the site’s policies. she routinely refered to herself with transphobic slurs so she could “fit in” with the /mlp/ crowd in the exact same way that wootmaster used to refer to himself with racist slurs prior to his disavowing of /mlp/. she legacy will be of subterfuge, manipulation, and conniving. i feel no obligation or desire to show her any respect because i feel she did nothing to deserve it; quite the opposite in fact.
 
this website deserves better than her. i don’t know if this sudden mod coup will end in disaster or if life will just go on as usual, but whatever the case i feel like we as a community have hurt ourselves with all this recent drama and the best way to move forward is to root out the underlying cause of the drama so we can all go back to talking about colorful horses, and with the nazis hopefully gone i think this community will become a better, kinder, more accepting place in their absence.

dude, have you seen their DNP system? it’s a complete joke; they don’t have ANY respect for the agency of artists. say what you will about derpi (and you can say plenty) but goddamn putting zizzy in charge of literally anything is a mistake. check out this thread on ponybooru forums and you’ll see what i mean.

ok fair enough, glad i got a straight answer at least. honestly i don’t blame him one tiny bit for stepping away considering the sisyphean task he was burdened with and all the bullshit he was getting from users. hopefully he’ll be feeling better sooner than later.

as what, though? his mod title is gone. is he just there for moral support now?
