Really. Because I think this season has been generally good. I haven’t seen one that I would classify as bad (yes, even the most recent one) yet, so I can’t quite sympathize, but I understand.

I thought it was perfectly fine. I don’t think it’s the best episode this season has had (and there have been some rather choice ones), but I don’t see why people would react so strongly to what would be considered slightly above average any other time. I even saw someone compare it to the reaction to The Last Jedi and now I can’t help but wonder whether people are allowing themselves to get awfully worked up about a kids show about cartoon horses. They can’t nail everything all of the time, but it’s not like this was awful.

Not a single sour “real” review, and this one is pretty spot on, especially on it’s comparison to Don Bluth.I blame Lionsgate for not letting any reviews out on RT, not I can necessarily blame them after Jem but this clearly isn’t another Jem on their part.

Well, NO ONE liked The Last Airbender really.
But with this I’d wager you have a much better chance of getting people who aren’t fans to enjoy it. It helps to have a film that actually meets a baseline of quality. :P

If being a fan means that you give a film based on the property you like a positive review, then plenty of people here aren’t really fans. :P
But I think she’s right about continuity baggage. We bring more of that to this than anyone else, and I wonder what our experience would be like if we were less familiar with the show.

Honestly, I think the review I posted is among the most honest and non-judgmental about the series the media has ever been.
Oh, and I just noticed that the author wrote a book about MLP. That would explain it.
AND she’s listed on Rotten Tomatoes as a critic. Hopefully her review will be up there soon.

I have to say, I’m also curious as to why the embargo is breaking so late. It doesn’t seem like they actually have much to be worried about. I’m sure there’ll be cynics and your haters who’ll review it badly just because, but the undercurrent of reactions has generally been breaking positive, and even some people who don’t normally watch the show are reacting kindly.
I feel much better about the critical reception now than I was a week ago, and I’m one of those guys who thinks that the movie’s more traditional animation style will give it an edge.

How so? The site does not seem to suffer from financial crisis or hacks, neither is it affected by C&Ds, and it is one of the most complete repositories of MLP content.

My HONEST opinion on Honest Apple is… wait for it… that it was a complete…ly good episode.
I don’t get why anyone would be angry about it.
