In the beginning there was peace, the dragons and ponies existing as they had always done. Life prospered, trade boomed, economy overwhelmed with success, until one fateful day when the princesses ordered siege upon the unexpecting dragon and their like kin, walls of balefire and magic pushing into dragon and kirin territory, earthen warriors bearing great blades and armor thicker than dragonhide, Hordes of pegasi bearing bladed wings and light armor, ready to dive in and deliver blows like a swarm of hunter killers to a beast. Horned mages pushing across lands with brutal efficiency, their walls of magic and balefire spells keeping casualties low on their part, few walls broken by warriors of the feircest kind. The dragons caught unprepared for such an attack were slaughtered on a scale of millions, their corpses used to fuel machines of war, city topplers, machines like steel walls that moved without pause as they brought down city walls, heads used as trophies and mounted, kirin made to fight eachother in pits of gore and mud like dogs, attempted escapees flayed alive and given to the starving of their own species. Come 2 years into siege the elder dragons awoke, tarcis one of those few, halting the assualts with brutal black fires, melting the machines of war like plastic to a furnace, mages turned to ash and cinders as their walls broke under sheer force and massive assualts from what remained and elders. Soon the advances were halted, elders held at the front lines, covered in armor plating and left to patrol for attackers. On the third year of siege the elders had pushed the invaders back by 100 miles, the dragons behind their lines making massive underground cities, forges the size of canterlot filled with smiths and warriors stocking upon their ever expanding armories. Come the 4th year of siege the dragons had begun their offenaive, millions of dragons preparing to begin their counter-attack upon the equestrians.
