It was still hovering over them… Refusing to fire. The roar of a fusion engine is heard as a Paris Class heavy Frigate moves to engage. Unless they had a Keyes on board, it was unlikely the Frigate could destroy the covie ship… But it may he able to lure it away.

“frigate, disengage, the destroyer is outside your weight class and i’d like it to keep its weapons off… are they even on the open channel?”

The frigate fires it’s MAC as well as a few dozen Archer missiles. Half of them were destroyed before they hit their target. The Mac took down the shield, and the missiles caused a bit of surface damage. The frigate them zooms away. A plasma torpedo detonated against one if it’s armor wings, melting it. The frigate limps away into space badly damaged… The destroyer flying to a different location to make repairs.

“The Paris class frigates are using MAC seen on cruisers. Makes em slower, but let’s em pack a bigger punch…”

The collum continued on it’s way… And found what the destroyer was there for. In the middle of the industrial district, was a massive crater with some alien structure in the middle.

(I thought Forerunners didn’t become common knowledge until after the events of the first game?)
