40 years later….
Since the capital was moved, Canterlot had changed drastically, becoming the new Empire’s center for science. The once proud city now a collection of factories, labs, skyscrapers, and overcrowded hazy airspace full of shuttles going way faster than should be allowed. Manehattan is little more than one giant factory. Los Pegasus had become the Empire’s main naval base and shipyard after many of its more profitable ventures became outlawed. Not even Griffonstone was safe, the newly formed empire turning its sights on the mineral rich territory to fuel its ever expanding forces. The Empire forces compliance on its subjects and erase all who oppose while the rulers and one percent go about in their safe haven, immune to the regulations they create and enforce. However change may be on the horizon…

Steampunk type setting obviously, similar to Cogswheel. Don’t start arguments in the thread, take it to the PMs, same could be said for excessive OOC. Please no characters with god powers or anything similar to that. Character sheets/ship info appreciated but not required. I have a very broad definition of what could be classified as an airship if you’re wondering. PM me about any questions or whatnot.
Ship info because I can.
Zeppelins: Large ridged airships usually spanning from 500 to 1500 feet. Capable of high speeds, long range and surprisingly hard to take down but typically lack any heavy weapons aside from bombs and 5 inch guns due to structural reasons. Usually fill roles such as cruisers and frigates.
Hybrid ships: A ship hull suspended under a large ridged or semi-ridged balloon, typically range around 100 to 700 feet, able to carry more armor and bigger guns than a zeppelin but lack their speed and in most cases range. Capable of filling nearly every role out there save for battleships and heavy transports and as such are the most common ships in the skies.
Blimp: A simple gondola or small ship hull suspended under a non-ridged balloon, almost always under 300 feet, usually only seen in observation roles. Lack the advantages of zeppelins and hybrid ships but are very cheap to build and operate.
Arcane ships: Literal flying ships, rely on magic based systems to stay in the air, can be very heavily armored and armed, as well as some being being surprisingly fast, however suffer from slow acceleration, slow handling, and high operational costs. Sizes vary greatly with the largest surpassing zeppelins. They usually serve as heavy transports, battle cruisers, and full fledged battleships.
Skiff: Similar principle to arcane ships but much smaller, much cheaper, and much more agile. Always below 100 feet, usually serve as light short range transports, shuttles, dropships, or occasionally torpedo boats.
