Before the captain could even finish speaking, Silvanus had already thrown himself into the fray, now gorget-deep in heretic astartes dumbstruck by the sudden blazing entrance of newcomers to the sortie…

Moving onward through an economy of lethal movements, slashes, and parries, a trail of butchered traitors are soon left laying strewn-about; each of them looking forward to one of the bloodiest deaths imaginable, as their lives exsanguinate into pools across the deck-floor, through uncauterised, mangled stumps of flesh and ceramite that had only recently been intact limbs.

With the heretics now turning their guns around to reply against the Ultramarine newcomers,

the Blood Ravens, no longer under heavy fusillade, are given a chance to close in and bring the fight to finish.

By piecemeal, the heretic astartes are given the emperess’s grace; most are smote in accosted melee, others are seized and pin-cushioned by knives stabbed between gaps in their armor, while the most-dangerous few, such as those of the “Tormented” possessed warband, are more promptly put down in swifter ways, most often by near-contact-range boltshots dealt into their helmet eye-lenses.

Even a few rubricae from the Sons of The Cyclops are executed as well in midst of the hectic fray;

as their tzeentchian hexed tomb-armors are split open, incandescent ashes trapped within for millennia are suddenly released. the desiccated remnants of their corporeal forms pour from boltshell-blasted rents in their armor, then scatter all-throughout the engineering deck as a dust whisked up into the air, that eventually snows back down to the floor as faint-blue motes of light.

Cerus had taken position by putting himself between the Cogitation serfs that were strapped into the Engines and the boarding chaos forces, though he soon made it a wall of destroyed traitor bodies instead.

The brawl culminates into assured loyalist victory, as any recourse for the heretics’ dispositions soon vanish.

Still-standing bellicose traitors are eviscerated on all sides by imperial blades, while some others, distinguished by enough strength and mettle left to defeat any brave marine confronting them, are unceremoniously cut down with extreme prejudice by laconic short bursts of well-placed boltgun fire.

Even fatally-wounded renegades still conscious and kicking are snuffed out; some by morbidly-zealous battle-brothers being less-than-frugal with the ammunition of their guns, while the rest are gathered together in formal-like executions, fulfilled by decapitations delivered from the power swords and axes of Blood Raven sergeants.

With the brawl simmered down to occasional coup-de-grâces dealt upon traitors discovered feigning death, some of which even hiding beneath corpses of their deceased ilk, Silvanus retraces his steps taken during the fray to search for his combat knife, eventually finding and pulling it out of a corpse’s neck.

He soon returns back to Cerus while wiping his knife, arms, helmet-face, and cuirass clean, using a ribbon of cloth flayed off from the tunic-piece of a deceased heretic’s armor. “…Are we done here, brother captain?”

“not even close, brother. the engines are save but the bridge has only the standard guard on it and i would be surprised of it wasn’t under attack.”

now the captain of this vessel was by no means a helpless civilian, neither were the tactical marines standing guard at the entrances, but this WAS a somewhat cohesive chaos boarding party.

Sprints then launches headlong-forward on the breakneck impulse of his power armor’s jump-pack thrusters, soaring over dozens of onrushing traitors, then descends with high speed down upon a heavily-armed tactical squad of lurid, yet peculiar-looking, heretic astartes over on the far end of the bridge’s holographic CIC(Combat Information Center) table.

With too much momentum however, Silvanus, along with a grappled renegade, both hurtle past the balcony-ledge of the bridge-staff’s high rostrum where the brawl is taking place. Both marines plummet far, into a deserted and vacant lower sub-deck, used by the traitors as a pit to dump those they’ve slaughtered…

Landing in a heap of mutilated bodies, Silvanus clambers out of the bed of gristly charnel surrounding him, then searches around cautiously, soon confronting, and now beholding, the only other living being on the sub-deck;

Leaping straightaway into action, the archenemies clash; both keeping his foe at-bay, harrying the other through torrents of exchanged bolterfire. Neither of whom are able to get an advantage over his nemesis though, as both flank, evade from, and pursue after one-another throughout the bowels and recesses of the bridge sub-deck.

The duel stretches on for what seems like the longest minutes of their lives… until during one suspenseful interstice between eachother’s one-man-assaults; while circling back into an area demolished by their duel, Silvanus discovers a suspicious-looking gun with a corrugated barrel, akin to a plasma gun’s accelerator-coils, peeking out from within a crate accidentally rent open by recent violence. Against his better judgement, he takes the ancient-looking weapon, liturgizing it’s eon-dormant machine spirit with his autosanctifier, and prepares it to try breaking his prolonging stalemate against the evenly-formidable renegade primaris.

As they clash once more, Silvanus staves-off his adversary’s assault with a hail of bolterfire, that once again, falls just short of bringing the fight to a close. Boltshell salvos manage to find marks on both marines, but just as when this duel had first begun, they result in no serious injuries; either merely-superfluous grazes, or potential scores deflected off the receiver’s armor by last-second stance-adjustments, before receding back to defilade behind obstructions.

This time however, just as the renegade primaris falls back, Silvanus draws out the ancient curio he recovered, aims it at a large hunk of corroded vessel-scrap the heretic had retreated behind, and pulls the trigger; at that moment, a wispy trail of intense red light sprouts from the weapon’s barrel, stretching toward, sweeping over, and caressing across the traitor’s hiding spot… a few seconds later, the metallic cover illuminates into a white-hot incandescent glow. The traitor astartes himself leaps out into clear view, screaming in excruciating pain, as his own armor has spontaneously ignited into a blazing inferno…

As the traitor stumbles away in burning agony, his aimless meandering about leads to a transparent-sapphiroid viewport to outer space, built in a manner resembling the stained glass window of a cathedral. Brandishing his bolter forward, he fires a barrage into the “glass”, blowing it to pieces, then falls through to outside of the ship, even as it’s still in-transit within the empyrean…

Witnessing the heretic primaris’s departure, and activating the breached window’s shutters to seal it closed, Silvanus makes his way back to the bridge battle, now with a long-forgotten archeotech weapon in his hands…

Arrives back after climbing an exceptionally-tall ladder””:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgaYe4ZYYyY up to the bridge, leading to right where he left off, now-covertly behind the heretic astartes side of the melee… Looking around, he notices a group of heretics away from the fray, attempting to gain some respite from the ongoing heavy-weight brawl. Marking that group with his helmet’s auspex, then feeding the targeting data into his suit-linked archeotech weapon, he opens fire on them.*

As before, a wispy tendril of crimson light produces out from the weapon, but this time, unexpectedly splits into separated vines that independently seize toward each of the resting heretics. Almost immediately, each traitor bursts into a squall of hot-glowing ceramite and gelatinized gore.

Brushes gristle and ceramite shards off himself, then readies the caliver toward another few traitors shocked by the sudden, spectacularly-gory display. Hearing Cerus through vox-cast while auspexing targets, he responds;

“It was sitting unused down in the sub-decks; I thought it was just an old dusty plasma gun–Firing again, the charnel scene repeats with several more heretic astartes, their numbers dwindling by the minute. “…‘Volkite’, captain?”
