“Slit eyes” is too near to ”slitty eyes”, which has some gross racist implications here in the UK. Better refer to the pupil shape: it’s more accurate and less prone to misinterpretation.
“Slit pupils” are just what cats have, no bad meanings. “Slot[ted] pupils” are what goats and cattle and real life horses have, again perfectly innocuous.
(They are also not “wingding eyes”, just in case anyone gets overkeen with the implications again.)
