Yeah, that’s why it’s so frustrating, there’s a lot of really great art that gets posted anonymously (or reposted without attribution by jerkasses) on image boards, and I’d miss out on that if I just hid the
artist:unknown or
anonymous artist tags to get rid of the trash that was clearly drawn with a mouse in MSpaint in less than a minute and duckposted here to piss people off.
That, and then you have those who upload pics and can’t be bothered to use more than the absolutely mandatory tags. If we had a
tagme tag, it’d be used at a higher rate than we could go after it and properly tag lazily tagged images, and then there’d still be users who are too lazy even to use
tagme.

Problem is, it’s somewhat hard to come up with puns for certain characters (especially characters with short names).
I dare say that sooner or later someone will come up with one. Just give the community enough cuteness overload involving a certain character.
It’s part of the fun here. But just about any kind of tag that’s fun for one user may be annoying for another. I’m pretty sure there are users who’d, for example, do whatever they can to get rid of all tags named after tropes because they don’t know TV Tropes/they could never get the grasp of TV Tropes/they still have a grudge on FastEddie for whichever reason. Or users who’d love to see the same strict naming policy applied here that’s used at the MLP:FiM Wiki, and I mean down to immediately perma-banning anyone who breaks this policy upon first strike.
